Nadine Ciapchin: We went in because my husband has been wanting to get a pair of their shoes for a while. He easily found the model and size to fit well. I decided to buy a pair as well but their sizes run smaller than usually. The staff made me feel uncomfortable. They were making faces and comments towards about me. I finally decided on a pair, but noticed a small defect and asked for another pair ))) they reacted like I’m from another planet )) Now, I think I need to go back to change for a half size bigger and I really don’t want to because of the staff 😁 I love the shoes, don’t the staff.

Daniel Sági Kiss: Small, cozy department store offering one of the best Hungarian streetware brand. The staff is professional, kind, but sometimes a bit too busy. The selection is small, just enough to cater your everyday needs, but not enough to fulfill your dreams of urban shoes. They have a good assortment of shoe-care products and bags, but lack on fundamentals like shoelaces and insoles.

Zeeshan: Elegant and very comfortable leather shoes and they seem durable and light weight. There were several other nice designs and colours to choose from. The guy with the beard at the shop was nice and answered all questions about the shoes to my satisfaction. It took me less than 10 minutes to make a decision. The shop is at the main road in city center. Recommended.

Lóránd Gyenge: Very nice and comfortable shoes and super helpful staff. Its funny when someone from outside Hungary is noticing that i am wearing Tisza shoes.

Robert Andrassy: The quality is very high, and the products are very comfortable and durable. The design is also unique and nice. The shoes are perfect also for aeroplane flying (and I guess also for beginner car drivers), because you can feel the pedals very well, and control them smoothly.

Note that July is not a great time for shoe shopping here (or anywhere else in Budapest) though, as the stocks are usually quite depleted and the selection is limited. I so wanted a pair in their yellow, but none in my size. The communist red ones I did get are awesome, and so well made - in Hungary.

Budapest Grand Luxury Apartment: Went into the store today with the intention to buy a new pair of sandals. The store was busy with other people buying and the sales assistants busy with everything else. I stood there for a few minutes and saw exactly the sandal I wanted in my size on the shelf. So I took it down with the intention of buying it, a sales assistant comes over to me and says can she help, I start saying these are the sandals I would like and she launches into telling me off for daring to take the box from the open shelf and I should wait for someone to help me?! I said excuse me? And she continued on with everything I had done wrong, never in my well travelled life have I experienced such a rude sales assistant. With that I just said thanks anyway I’ll go and buy them somewhere else and walked out. I was disgusted. Needless to say several other shoe shops put out their shoes in the boxes so the customer finds the size that is right for them. If this is such a big issue in the Birkenstock outlet perhaps they should put up a sign up or perhaps not out their stock out for their paying customers to touch! Classic Hungarian “customer service” Edit - I have just read several other customers have had exactly the same level of awful service and abused for touching a box! Clearly something is very wrong in this shop or perhaps management needs to review their policies and or staff attitudes!

Rick Baer: I’ve been living in Budapest off and on for almost 5 years and I’ve never been treated as rudely as when I just visited this store. It was quite busy and I live in the area so it would be easy for me to come back when it wasn’t so frantic. I asked at the counter, “When is a time when it might not be so busy?” The woman responded, quite rudely, “It’s always busy!!” I was offended by her tone. When I didn’t move away she snapped, “OK! Monday at 2:00!” I turned and left without any more interaction. Who needs that kind of irritation on a beautiful Saturday afternoon?

Anri: Can’t help but feeling like a burden to the staff. Dont seem like they want any one talking to them. They (atleast 5 staff members) were obviously having a very deep conversation by the front desk when I wanted to ask for a shoe in my size. After waiting for them to finish their story finally I was noticed and was made felt like fool a guy stating the obvious that the style I was looking was not my size( I know that’s why I asked for my size) and was with annoyance told it was the last model in the style, instead of suggesting or recommending other shoes in my size they continued their conversation. Only one staff member attended to customers and seemed very busy and overwhelmed. Don’t quite get how this store is run

Bruno Dias: I was in Office Shoes in Allee Shopping and I saw a 30% discount for a shoes. However it was not my size and they indicated to me that there is my size at the Office Shoes in WestEnd Shopping. When I arrived at WestEnd Shopping, instead of the price costing 25,890 Ft at Office Shoes in Allee Shopping, they wanted to charge 36,990 Ft for the same shoes because at Office Shoes in WestEnd Shopping the price had to be that and they said they dont care about other Office Shoes stores. They were also rude and arrogant. I did not buy it and I left. Be careful when you see a price in one Office Shoes store and when you go to another Office Shoes store, the price is already different. They cheat.

Henrique Barbone: Vass is a traditional, down-to-earth, family-owned company making high quality shoes that will last you decades. They have a large selection of ready-to-wear (RTW) shoes in-store. If you are not able to find something in-store, it is possible to order custom shoes and have them shipped over to you. This takes approximately 1.5 months but is worth the wait: MTM shoes give you a greater degree of flexibility: you can choose the last (you can also request modifications to the width), leather colour, sole type etc... Vass has a very wide selection of lasts (10+), from the clunky/classic Budapester to more elegant lasts, so there is something for everybody here. I have two pairs: one RTW and one MTM. Both were painfully expensive, but are an absolute joy to wear. The post-sale service is also reliable: I still haven’t had to have a shoe resoled but did need to have a new pair stretched, which Vass did for me to perfection. Michael Tarnay: Just walked in on Friday evening to inquire about purchasing two handmade pair of shoes. The staff there were quite distracted not welcoming and did not even acknowledge a potential new customer. Generally not helpful. Two staff members were helping 2 clients. I understand if staff is significantly busy, but but hope to staff members could handle two clients. After 15 minutes waiting they asked if I could come back tomorrow. I was sincerely interested in purchasing two pairs of shoes. They have now lost my business. I would recommend management educating staff on customer service.

Recommend to get matching a matching belt with your shoes. Small but cosy shop with friendly and competent staff. Be aware that these shoes need walking in.

However we went to the other smaller Vass shop in the same street where we met a very nice salesperson, where we finally bought 4 pairs of shoes. Good quality shoes, but a bit too expensive, compared with other Bristish manufacturers.
