Fromage- CHEESE SHOP & GOURMET STORE: what do users think?

Roland Trimmel: Excellent. It’s a lovely little shop full of delicacies — and the owner is super nice. They serve excellent stuff, have small tables outside you can use to sip a glass of Prosecco and enjoy some of the food they happily pack up for you. Seriously excellent stuff, especially if you’re into the amazing delicacies from Italy. 🇮🇹

EC Clarke: I contacted them from France to assemble a gift basket of French items to send to a friend on my behalf. They were extremely helpful and the entire experience was great. I would highly recommend them! 🧀 🍷 🍫 👏

Aliya Rysbek: Wonderful owners, who are making sure you enjoy the whole thing. Big selection of quality cheese, wines and other produces for such a small shop. The cheese & olive plate we tried tasted great and was served with an impeccable service. For people missing Italian experience I would definitely recommend the shop.

melpi melpi: We stopped here with a friend to drink wine as she knows the shop. The owner seems like a fantastic guy, we received small tasters of ham, salami and wine. If you wanted a gourmet modern and informal evening with friends or business partner, this could be your place to relax and talk. I left the shop with a bottle of red I really liked. I can easily imagine stopping here for a casual date as well. Thank you, I enjoyed it

Karolina Iskra (KarolinasZen): What a great place to get your souvenirs! A highly knowledgeable staff member, helped us to buy very good quality Hungarian products. Beautiful shop, very well stocked. Worth to visit when in the area, would highly recommend it. Thank you!

Александр Чечетов: Amazing place with marvellous selection of delicatessens and drinks, with an option to eat right there. Super friendly service. Visiting was an experience

Micky Bar-Lev: We ate great sandwiches in this lovely delicatessen. High quality cheese and Italian salami

Sean Edgley: My happy place in Budapest. Amazing selection of local Hungarian and European products. Customer service is amazing. Friendly workers happy to share samples. Prices are fair for the quality of what you get. Due to the pandemic, you will probably have to wait for 10 minutes or so outside since only 2-3 people are allowed inside at once.

Steve Reiner: Very high quality specialty food shop. Owner is very enthusiastic and helpful. We stopped on a foodie tour of Budapest.

Eric Gomez: The raw milk is fantastic and the kefir is pretty good. I would not recommend the cream though

Heléna Szűcs: Great and tasty selection of cheese, and other dairy products. The best in the area.

Tamás Ádám: Wide selection of domestic and foreign cheese.Great place!

ravi kumar: Good quality and price is affordable, staff is very humble.

Fraser Booth: The best selection of cheeses at a fair price!

fsi lany: Great cheesemonger in Budapest, whose parenyica and motte butter I particularly appreciate. The parenyica here are the best I have ever eaten in Budapest: tender but not oily, smoky but not cloying (those tasted at the szimpla kert market are too much for my taste), their texture and taste are just perfect. Nothing to do with what you can find in Hungarian supermarkets, real cheese yum yum

eva g: All products are delicious and good. The service staff is very nice and polite. Recently, I have experienced that when I freeze the milk, the colostrum is inedible and bitter.

Péter Lipták: A huge selection, from the simplest "on tap" milk to the most special cheeses. Nice service.

Országjáró Magyar: Very good!

Valentina Cindrić: Very nice breakfast, portions are big. Their squeezed juices are excellent as well as coffee. It is possible that you will have to wait a bit because it is quite a popular place, and there is not much space inside. But the atmosphere is pleasant. The food is ready relatively quickly.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Response: Thank you so much :-)

David Leonhard Steinbauer: Sorry, nothing left to take a photo of. The cake 🍰 was so delicious I had to eat it before I was able to switch on the smartphone camera. The espresso was excellent even so I do not believe in the cherry-sour hype. I love espresso deeply roasted. The owner/service really looks after the place and you feel it is handled with love. Thank you!

Anyi Gazdag: We went for a hot drink on the weekend and randomly found this place. The latte and cappuccino were amazing, the mocha and hot chocolate were a bit plain (in my opinion) but still ok. They use a Kenyan coffee bean The waitresses and baristas were friendly :) I will surely come back for breakfast 👌🏼
Response: Thank you so much :) Interesting about the mocha and hot chocolate. We use a 70% Belgian chocolate and the taste should be really good. Let me check with our baristas to make sure that they are using the correct quantities. Many thanks, Corinne

Gloria Li: Went there everyday throughout our stay in Budapest!! Love their coffee and wraps! The acai was a bit too sweet but still pretty good
Response: Thank you so much!! We don’t add any extra sugar / honey to the açai - it’s just berries, açai, banana and oat milk. But thanks for your feedback :)

Anežka Krejčí: Great coffee, especially this affogato!! Cozy little café, nice staff, who speak English very well. Would recommend.
Response: Thank you so much :)

Saif Adnan: The coffee taste is amazing. I had an amazing americano with croissant with Nutella:) highly recommend
Response: Thank you so much ☺️

Szász Hilda: Prices are literally higher in any SPAR market than the Chinese store on the corner Service is inexplicably bad, or pretty much nonexistent. If you are visiting during peak hours, be prepared to wait 20 mins in line to pay.

sonelee makoona: I go there since it’s quite close and I can usually get most stuff. However, the employees are so rude, it’s only sometimes and rarely that there are nice employees who also speak English or else they are all useless and arrogant. Today, I went for a Christmas tree and I told one staff to keep it since I would go get other things then buy it and apparently she left it at the cashier, so when I went to get the tree, the cashier who assisted me was really nice while her colleague who is much younger and of a darker skin tone told her something, which probably meant to not give me the tree. When I went to the ask the younger one if I can have the tree since technically is mine she shouted in Hungarian in front of everyone ?! And said she won’t give me since she will take it. As far as I know the customer is the one who gets to buy what they want! Rudest staff ever

Nigel Millington: One of the best around especially for foreigners. A larger than usual range of meat, breads and diary products with good wine and household necessities. Queues not too long and no self service which can be a trail for non Hungarian speakers.

Shell Atherton: Very busy as always great stock and great price

Lika: Not the best spar as it’s super messy (navigation-wise) and slowHowever still okay Spar with great selection of stuff+ they have recycling bins for glass !!

Syed Faheem Ahmad: Nice Supermarket and prices are good. More good if open Little more late night.

AKANKSHA OJHA: Almost all the grocery shopping items are available

Kriszti N: Cheaper than most spars. Good location too.

Tasting Table Cellar (by Taste Hungary): what do users think?

John Coffey: We had a very very nice evening with a really good tasting. Phantastic wine, sausages and cheese. Nicki is an amazing sommelierè with huge knowledge and she gave us a view over the different wine regions and their differences. We had a lot a lot of fun and will definitly come back when we visit Budapest the next time

Tom Krister Nilsen: This is the place for wine tasting in Budapest! The owner is very knowledgable and you quickly understand they are ambassadors for Hungarian wines. You can feel the importance for Tasting Cellar to get the Hungarian wine to the world. The different wines combined with the ham and cheeses is a nice treat. The shop also have a curated selection by the owner, some special bottles can be found. Looking forward to our next visit already :)

Maggie Jones: What a wonderful social experience! I would highly recommend -- though I know it can be a bit of a splurge for younger folks traveling, but it was so worth it! We tasted 5 wines, ate cheese (they even had vegetarian options!), and chatted with the other guests. It was truly a great experience :)

Ammozon Grace: These guys provided so much information on local wines for the tasting menu! Good selection for purchase too. The cheese plate and roasted pumpkin seed oil serviced with the bread were delicious. Very reasonable prices for tasting, by the glass, and bottle purchases to go.

Brent: Great wine tasting. Nikki was incredible. Extraordinary knowledge, great attitude, excellent wines, great cheese and snacks. Overall, one of the best wine tasting/education sessions i have ever been to l.

Tom Lang: Well worth every cent. Extremely knowledgeable sommelier who previously worked at Majestic in the UK before moving back to Hungry. Tasted a lot of wine with generous pouring. Discovered wines and regions that I was pleasantly surprised about

John Asbury: Christian was a perfect guide/ambassador for the wines and foods, telling us about not only the grapes used but also the history of the winery and the origin of the cheese and meat. It was worth every penny.

Once at the cashier you should quickly place your things back in the basket/cart (there is no other place to leave them), and then you go to the bar and place them in you bag/sack. Elisabetta Fox Piantoni - Foxsbackpack: One of the cutest cafès ever. Everything was delicious, the way they serve the granola with the small bottle of milk is so precious and delicate. We want to go back and try everything! Oh, and the warm / toasted banana bread was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!Recommended dishes Roasted, Avocado Toast and Cappuccino …More
Response: Thank you so much!!! This is so lovely to hear ☺️

Arzu A: Delicious tea and croissants with chocolate. We also tried brownies, chocolate cookies and banana bread, all were delicious. Nice atmosphere.
Response: Thank you so much! :-)

Xinqi Wang: This place is amazing! Service was good, coffee and pastries were all tasty. Will go again, thank you!
Response: Thank you so much :) :)

St.PeteNative: We stumbled upon this place by accident on our way to another coffee shop. The name caught our attention and the very friendly barista/owner won us over. The banana bread was seriously the best i’ve ever had. Avocado toast was 10/10 and we really enjoyed our matcha latte and regular latte. Please note the seating area is small if you plan on staying for a while.

Angelica Bontea: Amazing coffee and daily fresh baked goodies! You will fall in love with this place, I highly recommend it!

Greg Sutton: Great coffee and great service! Highly recommend a visit. Owner is clearly passionate about coffee and very knowledgable.
Response: Thank you so much! :)

Caitriona O'Connor: Such a lovely space for a coffee when strolling around budapest! Get the espresso tonic its amazing! Food looks great and Dave and his team are super friendly - 100% one to check out!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Andrew Porter: By far the best coffee in Budapest. I am currently at the end of my 5 night holiday and have popped into lots of different coffee shops and this had got to be the vest by far.. just wish I found it at the start of my trip

Marta Krzeminska: Cute cafe with interesting decor of hand-painted wall art and (what looked like) cosy sitting space upstairs. Coffee flavour really 10/10 plus a nice selection of fresh bakeries. We asked for a decaf option and got laughed at. It can really make you feel unwelcome and sad when someone laughs at your preference.
Response: Thank you for your review. I’m really glad that you liked the café style and coffee. We didn’t laugh at the decaf option per-say. It’s just that when you arrived one of our customers was sitting talking about how great the coffee was, and how you should try it, and then when you ordered, it was for something that we couldn’t provide. We all shared a smile about it, and you then talked about a sausage without meat etc. No one was laughing at the decaf request. And instead I offered you tea options and spoke about reducing the coffee output. But you chose long blacks, which I’m glad you enjoyed :)

SPAR: what do users think?

Andre Wehling: The store is quite small and has a more international choice of products which I like. Unfortunately I can only give one star because they are selling products in the normal shelf which need to be stored at 8 degree Celsius maximum. I informed the employees but they continue to do this even one day later. Seems like they dont care a lot about their costumers health.

Benoît Cabanel: Nice place for small shopping, not realy expensive, clean

Michael Lee: It was late. All the shops were closed but this shop was still open. It was good chance to buy what I wanted to buy.

Alvaro Blazquez: Good selection. A bit small and it can get crowded easily.

Alisa Heus: not enough fresh vegetables and fruits. Sometimes no toilet paper, tampons or other necessary daily products.

rossen petkov: Not a very wide selection and somewhat narrow isles to pass people

Alexander Hodko: Good Spar nice and convenient with a good selection of products. Located on kiraly utca and open till 2100 most days it is easily accessible and also offers a selection of international products for the foreign customers. It has all the essentials as well as a few extras although not as cheap as Aldi or Lidl it provides enough options when our in a hurry. Open on Sunday’s and most public holidays this is a combiner and functional spar that I would recommend for shopping

Sofía Salazar: Aldi is my favourite in Hungary above all the other supermarket chains

David Berze: Great products for a fair price. This particular Aldi can get really crowded, especially around 5 pm after work.

Scott Miller: So much better then England more chocolate but very the same

Eric Delamere: Aldi here in Budapest is much like Aldi at home in the UK. Good products at great prices.Very highly recommended 👍

Z Baghestani: Good product at reasonable prices. I was looking for a supermarket and went to this one and I liked it.

Michael Kemendy: Good prices and food. Open later then the market which is great

Angela: Good value for money. Great selection of bread and pastries in the bakery section.

Joseph SAMAHA: Always interesting shopping spot. Good selection of various even if not branded products( who cares) at competitive prices. And best croissants in all supermarkets ( Spar.Lidl..Prima can not compare). I always start there before going anywhere else

A K: Small underground Aldi with pretty much what you need for home.

Maung Pu Naing: The authenticity of Aldi is same, friendly and budget pricing

Adam: Security asked me to unload my bag after purchasing at the self service cashier the second time in 2 weeks. They had trouble understanding their own receipt. To battle theft there is a random selection security check in place at cashier machine, there they can verify things while they are at your basket. This extra random check is totally unnecessary and upsetting after you packed away everything.

sono bye: they have trust issue , they will check your bag after purchasing , and the carts always dirty they never cleaned it!

Tania Kisha: We had no chance to try clothes out if it fits because the test room was closed with padlock. Fortunately we bought the wrong size, hopefully they will replace.

Csuvakka Racing driver: Its not really 0-24, you cannot chekcout between 23:30-0:45

Gábor Juhász: The tidy marketplace is filled with various fruits and vegetables from around the world, but broccoli.

ALDI: what do users think?

Gordana Velickovska: This used to be a nice place to do grocery shopping with courteous employees. However, this started changing lately and the organization/layout as well as the offer of products is declining. Still, the worst is the new profile of employees/cashiers they hire. They are impolite and in bad mood all the time. My latest encounter with a cashier going by the name of Aniko - who was extremely rude with me, was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Hence, I decided that it’s about time to change my previous review (5 stars) to what they actually deserve now.

Menchox E: I just want to say hello to the cashier Bettina, she got furious because I didnt put the plastic divider, so she started cursing (thinking I dont speak Hungarian), then throwing the items I bought and of course finally throwing the bill. I have never EVER got treated with such disrespect in my life so thank you for making me avoid purchasing Aldi not only here in Budapest but also at home :)

Umair Ali Asad: Nice and Big spaced grocery store. You can find almost everything from grocery to vegetables , bakery , utensils and clothes everything at one place and prices are also very affordable as compared to other big stores. Vegetable and fruits were fresh when I visited last time and had good taste. You can also find huge variety of dry fruits and biscuits. Also bakery products are super fresh. Temperature is well maintained for freezers so things are always good but I will recommend you to always check the expiry date of products because sometimes products like breads have very near expiry date. Overall my experience was good. Only drawback is that there is no self checkout area for quick checkout and you have to be in long line to pay the money for your products and they always have big lines of customers.

Cristi D: Nice location (old refit building) with parking. Not a large range of products, a bit chaotic organization and quite dirty entrance

György Jung: One of my favourite grocery stores. Eveything I need is there, at great prices. Their bakery section is simply unbelievable.

oscar tanko: Helpful to have nearby the Hapimag hotel since I was staying and cooking in an apartment there.

Ákos Seres: You will get the usual Aldi experience here as well. It has a parking lot and the store itself is inside a cool looking building. The cashiers are usually very nice and there is always a great variety of goods to choose from. Would recommend since it is at an accessible location.

Gábor Cser: It was the best Aldi ever. Fast and efficient service lots of smile. Always tidy and well ordered. Parking is free, and Alexa is lovely. ;) But today I had to leave the last box of plum with 5 good pieces due to 2 pieces were rotten. I have to go somewhere else to get 5 fkn piece of plum. Very clever decision makers, and even more clever and diligent staff -leader of the day- :) take my compliments! ;)

László Forgách: Everything works fine. Fast Checkout, good products and great deals. Always getting the veggies from here. Visit is highly recommended. Discounted items are always available.

louy barafi: Workers are soooo rude and hate helping people. The guy with the maw hawk plays rock music so loud and shoulders people while walking by. He is so ignorant and doesn’t deserve to have a job with that attitude.

Giulia: It is a small branch, but on the other side it is open until late (22, later than the nearby Spar) and surprisingly you can very often find very reduced items! Staff is not always in a good mood. There are two self check out, which can make the payment faster.

Mate Havlik: Well, the opening of a brand new Spar next door definitely took its toll on them. The selection is moderate, not the place for fresh produce, but prices are low, what else do you expect from a mini Tesco?

Trent Boswell-Wakefield (Kiaoraexplorer): Great little Tescos, not a very big selection but it has the sufficient amount needed, only 1 teller both times i have been there. cheap compred to other countries but i think it is standard pricing for Hungary. 1 block from a metro

Robert MacKay: Yes, ALDI in Europe is like ALDI in the US. Very familiar experience for this American. This store in Budapest carries a wider range of merchandise than our versions and has an in-store bakery. It’s a little more comparable to the Lidl locations in the US.

Nadia Andie: Terrible grocery, just go to any other… little choice of products, huge lines at the cashier desks and also they won’t sell you alcohol without an ID even if you’re a senior (I’m almost 30 and they asked for it)

Tim: This store is much better than the mini-Lidl which is about a hundred meters away. You can find here a wide range of products, inclidong vegetables, fruits. The lines are not long unlike at the lidl place which can get ridiculously long during rush hour.

vaaksi: Good selection of products. Gluten free products marked clearly and there are some really nice options.

John Buonagurio: Great little supermarket in Europe that is now making in-roads into the USA. Good selection and prices.

Krissy W: Basic Aldi. Not the best, but not the worst. The layout of the items are a bit odd (not in any particular order) and it can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but not bad if you need a few quick items on the way to the bus station/airport/running errands in the city and need to pick up a few items on the way home.

Gusztáv Fonyódi: Lot of tourists, decent prices with hard working staff

Vimalraj Parker (ICU): Good staff and no annoying machines. It well managed and always stocked

Amit Margalit: Clean and nice, helpful staff, large variety.

Vilmos Klebik: Pretty small, which is good if you only need to buy a few things, but if you are planning to buy food for a couple of days you should better visit a bigger Tesco. Closest is at 1138 Váci út 185, which is only 2km away.

Ildikó Knop: Good for basic grocery shopping, but if you want clothing or other extras you should go to a Tesco Hypermarket. During the day it is not crowded at all and there are plenty of parking spaces.

Gábor Paller: this is a smaller variant of a tesco supermarket. it still offers a large variety of products, has less queues an easier parking.

Zsolt Balogh: Small Tesco, but has everything. You can do your groceries quite fast here.

Richard Buz: Not bad, it is open at sunday 20:00

JC Lee: It is different from Korea ㅎㅎ

Ciryatan Alexander T.: Your standard "big" Tesco. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Endre Somogyi: Normal Tesco, usually not that crowded.
