Koller Gallery: what do users think?

Karolina: Hidden gem of Budapest. The entry to the whole building and garden is free. There are plenty of impressing masterpieces which you can buy! Also there is one of the most beautiful views at the Parliment from the top floor. Totally recommend if you have around 30 minutes of free time.
Response: Thank you for you kind words

Lilla Kertész: I had the chance to visit Koller Gallery when a super talented artist friend of mine, Marco Veronese, had an exhibition there. There is a beautiful small garden, connected to the gallery with a small fountain, lovely statues and it has also a calm, artsy atmosphere. Excellent to ponder on life’s big questions and chill a bit there. Worth to go!
Response: Thank you very much for your kind words, looking forward to your next visit!

Wiktoria Rak: wonderful small gallery, not many tourists seem to know about it. very nice lady working there. beautiful house with soul, and a stunning small garden!

Alexandra Dohotari: Secluded, intimate location, visited by few tourists. You feel like home, the interior is very nicely arranged, there are several sketches and paintings by Hungarian artists that can be bought. On the top floor is the workshop of the Hungarian artist Amerigo Tot whose sculptures are also exhibited in the garden of the house. Worth a visit if you are in the Fisherman's Bastion area.
Response: Thank you very much for your positive words!

Lilith: At first, we were a but scared to go and ring the doorbell but I am so happy we did! The warden was extremely friendly and welcoming and let us walk through the gallery at our own pace. The garden was so tranquil and lovely to be in. The highlight of the visit was the studio in the top floor which exhibited beautiful art and offered a view over the whole of Budapest.
Response: Thank you very much, looking forward to your next visit

Nick Bateman: Excellent little gallery with a wide range of classical and contemporary works by Hungarian artists. The top floor atelier (formally used by the sculptor, Amerigo Tot) with its incredible views of the city is worth visiting by itself. The small sculpture garden is also wonderful, and the staff are extremely polite and helpful. We’ll worth a visit if you’re looking for something other than the typical tourist sights on Castle Hill.
Response: Thank you very much !

Maryam Tohidi: Friendly gallery with a beautiful sculpture garden
Response: thank you very much !

Isabel S: A lovely art gallery tucked away with some brilliant pieces. The view from the top floor is stunning and a little remembrance of Irme Toth!

Khishigmaa Enkhtur: Nice gallery with the cutest small garden!
Response: Thank you very much !

Ryan: Very cool folks running it super friendly. Make sure to ring the bell. View from third floor impressive as an unexpected bonus.
Response: Thank you Ryan, it was a pleasure to meet you!

Ants Productions: Great poster shop with an fantastic selection, prices are reasonable from 70euros to a few thousands euros, so something for most pockets. You need to have an appointment to view the posters, or ring the bell. The staff are not pushy and are helpful. Some of the staff speak very good English.

Serena Ngai: Appointment required, but easy to book via email. I was able to book an appointment within a few days. Great selection of vintage posters. Staff was friendly, and super knowledgeable. Was fun to learn about the history, artists, and era.

Áron Dési: If you are looking for a unique home accessory, look no further. They have posters on almost every topic. They are nice to the customers and it seems that they understand the matter. It deserves five stars!

Marcsi Radli: Super nice service and great selection!

LUMAS Budapest Galéria: what do users think?

Songrong Jiang: When I passed the gallery one night, I was fascinated by one painting, decided to visit it today. The paintings were well displayed with the warm spotlight, improved the vibe of the paintings, the hosts in the gallery are also nice to discuss about the paintings and the details, nice experience overall. After leaving, received some emails regarding the painting details from the host, helpful for a record.
Response: Dear Songrong, Thank you for your nice review. It was great to meet you in the gallery. I hope you will enjoy a LUMAS-artwork soon in your home! See you soon! Your LUMAS Budapest Team.

Attila Szabo: Great gallery!!! NICE PICS!!! ART!!!

Dasha Brezinova: A beautiful gallery but not managed to get in as their office hours don’t match the Google information.
Response: Dear Dasha, thank you. We already updated our Winter-hours. See you next time! Best, LUMAS Budapest team

The (Hildybeest): Lumas is a terrible company, after weeks of awaiting delivery in the US from where the art is printed in Germany their customer service failed completely in helping our art clear customs enroute to Montana. Now they are holding our money ransom while the piece sits in customs in Memphis. They refused to assist in the process and claimed that it was our responsibility as the receiver to ensure that the shipping company could deliver the goods. This is fairly minor, but what is criminal is the complete lack of customer service provided throughout our very negative experience with Lumas. It is clear that the beautiful city of Budapest is stained by the existence of this Lumas store. Update, four months after our purchase the art is stuck in return customs in Germany. LUMAS still refuses to help. We'll never buy art internationally again.., this type of behaviour just hurts the artists in the end.

janos horvath: Great collection, various formats, frames and sizes. Some pricy items but surely high quality. Very kind assistance and helpful customer service.

Steve Isley: Excellent place to see some stunning prints and the Manager is lovely we go back numerous time a year to Budapest and always call in

Brian Trossen: Great art! A bit pricey, but I may return!
Response: Many thanks! See you back!

Tomi Bairz: Gallery with high end photography. Do not miss it if you are in Budapest. ;)

Maran: Excellent place to check the art work

Paul Moreira: Great art, prices not so great

Adrià Martí Peiró: Brilliant design shop located in a small street in the middle of downtown. I amazed with the variety of different things you can buy and all of them with unique design and unforgettable style. I took special attention with the music was playing on. I spent a great time.

Vy Nguyen: Fantastic place to pick up local art, goods, and post cards. Store owner is very very kind and knowledgeable. She also knows a lot of cool and local places in Budapest. They accept Euros and Credit Cards. English speaking. Post cards are from 600 HUF to 800 HUF. Not the cheapest, but very high quality and supports local artists.
Response: Thank you 🙏

Erica Picco: A real gem in a quite turistic place. If you're looking for a shop where you can find something more than a gift, like handmade pottery and jewelry or fine art prints, you're in the good place. Very nice collection of Nagy László's posters. Great quality designs, affordable prices 😊
Response: Thank you Erica! Glad you liked our selection and found some treasures… we also love and appreciate Nagy László’s art!

Günter Gebert: This is an awesome place. It is like a little wonderland, you find something new, unique and fantastic in every corner. You can lose yourself in the artworks. The people running the store are extremely friendly, helpful and prepared to explain you everything you want to know, from the history of the store to the story of particular prints. If you are interested in contemporary art and want to support the art scene in Budapest, this place is def worth a visit.
Response: Awe, thank you Günter for your kind review! It was lovely to see you, and hope the artworks you got at Rodo will be an inspiring addition to your life.

Bernie Person: Very cute things to buy, love the authenticity. Over priced and not very friendly staff
Response: Thank you for your feedback, we attended to the issue you raised, and made sure that from this calendar year you can only meet helpful and friendly staff at our shop. Also, our one-of-a-kind, handmade, made in Hungary, ethically manufactured designer items are curated based on many parameters, one of which is that we could offer gifts from 6 USD/ EUR. Some of our artist are professors at Art Universities, some of them are trying to make a living selling their wonderful art, and we are proud to represent and promote them. Furthermore, VAT in Hungary is 27% which directly goes to the Government and our artist are not supported from that tax - sorry if you perceived this as overpricing. Best regards!

Fanni F: Lovely shop for hand made souvenirs and Hungarian designer accessories, home decor and art items. Friendly and nice staff.
Response: Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed spending time at our shop :)

Sonia Ran: Nice contemporary art exhibit. There were two exhibits we could visit with materials in both Hungarian and English. The entrance was a bit tricky with getting buzzed in. It's the key button first and then 8.

Tamás Orosz: Superb gallery introducing contemporary Hungarian avantgarde art, absolutely a must see!

Joachim Tillessen: They offer a platform for original art, that did not get the deserved recognition during the communist era.

Anikó Karancsiné Magyar: I congratulate the exhibition, that young talents can introduce themselves... many more

Zsuzsa Gado: The Bak exhibition is exciting and almost comprehensive. I liked the exhibition management.

Jakub Živný: Nice gallery in the city center. They have three exhibition spaces and very nice guides.

Dániel Pats: I liked that there are 2 separate exhibition spaces.

Angéla Botár: It is always an experience to visit.

Virág Judit Galéria: what do users think?

Peter Lukacs: My parents and I are frequent visitors of the gallery, and we are also there at every auction. People working here are one of the most professional ones all over Hungary, and the gallery itself is continuously improving. Spacious, modern and up to the highest standards. Parking is a bit difficult but manageable.

Dmitry Liberman: I do not advise you to contact this auction house. very unimportant organization. I sent them a picture to determine the cost, a month passed, they did not answer, even after my reminder. I would not recommend this auction to anyone.

Gorgias Stefan: At a first look the exterior of the shop is not so attractive.it is only after taking the courage of walking down the stairs and entering into the basement of the shop you get the feeling of being in an art and antiques treasure cave. Lot of stuff to admire and choose from. The stuff is polite, helpful.

Grant Boyd-Gibbins: I used to really rate this auctioneer, but was disappointed when they turned down (I thought slightly rudely) the opportunity to sell a (I think rather charming) Rudnay Gyula oil of a peasant farmer, that I no longer have wall space for. There was no engaging "dear sir, we would be happy to try to sell it for you as our valued and loyal customer", but rather an unambiguous "we would be happy to try to sell a picture that you've previously bought through us". Mmm. With the benefit of hindsight, my two decades of loyalty to them seems now to have been naive. Worth remembering that it's always easier to buy than to sell. And safer not to buy, but to look. But the catalogue is always 'glossy' and the gallery and lots well lit, so it certainly looks impressive, and that element of their marketing is first rate.
Response: Dear Grant! We are really sorry that you are disappointed, though there are some important things to know to understand our company policy. Generally we are only able to choose 200 lots for the auctions from around 500-600 paintings. We try to make a quality selection what we believe to be vendible on the market. Unfortunately Rudnay Gyula's paintings, especially a portrait of a man, is not really in demand nowadays. We are sure that we have talked this through with you, so we are afraid our biggest mistake was being totally honest with you. Anyways, if you bought something from us before, we always take that back and try to resell it on another auction. We hope you will understand these and realise that we are not disrespectful just try to do our job properly. All the best, Virág Judit Gallery

Arpad Molnar: High quality auction house for Hungarian paintings and Zsolnai ceramics.

Runa Hellinga: Stunning gallery, specialised in top quality Hungarian art, with top quality exhibitions

Gyöngyvér Szeles: The best art galery in town. Unique exhibitions.

Alex Goth: Nice exhibitions, a little unnerving atmosphere

Ágnes Gábor: Super

Özge Dağıtan: Such a beautiful building! The exhibition was great as well. Also the lady who is working there is very kind and friendly :)

Tian Di: One of the Most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. Absolutely fantastic!

Oxana Go: Beautiful building/ interior, interesting exhibition which makes you think about

nettadi ben asher: Of the beaten path of most tourists. High msrks for interesting expositions, beautifully laid with English text. Low marks for very low accessibility and unfriendly service.

Dale Cooper: The exposition is very small but there were some interesting photos dated beginning of the 20th century. The book shop on the first floor will not leave indifferent people interested in photography.

JH S: Current exhibition on WeeGee was really well curated. Be sure to stop at the ticket counter to flip through the WeeGee books where you get a feel of more of his magic! 2nd floor studio is like a dream space for me. Was here when it was dark, must be more amazing in daylight!

Markus Mayer: Amazing building, nice exhibition, most notable to me were the colorful windows upstairs...

Sabrina Colley: Fantastic exhibition

Veronika Mihóková: Definitely recommend to go there, it is a beautiful building with always interesting exhibitions. We were there in February 2019 for a "Back to the Future" exhibition, which was also a title of a Foam magazine's #49 issue. They also sell this magazine in the house's bookstore on the 1st floor (as the only official seller in Hungary). The Daylight Studio was crowded with chairs and LED TV, so we did not get the full experience of the room but we enjoyed it nevertheless.
