We are a unique institution in Budapest: a mini British school, running an innovative programme for students who attend non-English speaking schools. ESB allows children to gain all the benefits that the Hungarian education system offers, but combines this with a British education.


Our school was founded with a basic principle in mind: the very best combination of British and Hungarian education.


Every single teacher in our school is a native English speaker. This helps children getting familiar with the perfect pronunciation but teachers also bring in their own unique cultural elements to the classroom.

We teach English Language and Literacy to children aged 4 to 18. There are classes for second language learners (all levels), native speaker children (all ages) and exam classes (B2 & C1) for teenagers.


ESB has two school locations: in II district at 2-4 Tárogató út which is at the bottom of Hüvösvölgyi út, close to Pasaréti tér and the Budagyöngye shopping centre. The second location is at Apor Vilmos Ter in district XII, close to MOM shopping centre.

Through our years of experience, we learned what parents are struggling with… and we are here to help!

As a father of 5 children my main parental role has been the family taxi driver. Barely appreciated by my 5 loyal clients and not even a hint of a tip!

Although they have now grown up, the weekly schedule of trying to plan everybody’s after school schedule was a challenge. Football, fencing, folk dancing and a continuing list of absolutely “Daddy, I have to go to…” activities, all impossibly available for the same afternoon. We taxi drivers are stressed!!

At ESB we recognise these dilemmas and have 20 different classes from Monday to Saturday at two different locations to give parents the greatest number of options.

Our classrooms at Tarogato u ( II) and Apor Vilmos ter ( XII) are planned to be no more than 10 minutes drive from your Buda home or school. Of course we will recommend which classes are best for your children but importantly, there is a choice.

Squeezing in yet another extra curricular activity for your children is not easy but we are happy to help!

4worldlovers: At Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery, we have been providing high quality English-language education and care for children aged 16 months to 6 years since 2012.


Our native English speaking and qualified Hungarian teachers follow a carefully designed curriculum developed by our own international research; covering practices used in Great Britain, the US and Hungary. We prepare our children to enter any school system, let it be International or Hungarian.


Love of nature and an awareness of our environment are emphasized and integral parts of the curriculum at Apple Tree Kindergarten and Nursery. Children are actively involved in maintaining our fruit trees, our vegetable patch and our flowerbeds. We teach children about recycling and composting. We re-use materials and dispose of organic waste by feeding it to our compost.


We are located in an elegant villa with safe, secure and suitable facilities in the heart of Buda with easy access from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 12th districts by car and by public transportation.

Our facilities include spacious classrooms with lots of natural sunlight, a very well equipped gymnasium, a children's library, a piano room and a speech therapy room.

We have a beautiful, grassy garden with fruit trees and a small vegetable patch for the children to use. The playground includes swings, two sand boxes, a barefoot exploration area, a climbing wall, a running track, a bike riding area, four play houses, a jungle gym and a slide. There is a separate outdoor play area adjoining the young nursery classroom exclusively for the littlest children.

Apple Tree provides English language childcare and education. There are two teachers in each classroom at all times – a native English speaker and a Hungarian qualified kindergarten teacher who is fluent in English.

Field trips (3-5 times a year in the Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten groups)

Speech therapy for Hungarian speaking and English speaking children as needed (aged 4 and above).

We provide a healthy, balanced menu of four meals each day. Breakfast is available between 8.30 am and 9.30 am. Around 10.30 am we serve fresh fruit or vegetables. Apple Tree provides a healthy 2-course catered hot lunch every day. In the afternoon, we offer a snack.

Filtered drinking water is available for the children throughout the day and we provide other healthy drinks as well, such as herbal/fruit tea, etc.
