Budapest British International School: what do users think?
nvpokr
nvpokr: My child is very happy here. The owners invest a lot into the school development. The teaching staff is very professional, they really love kids and their job. Drama club is amazing! Math and science lessons are really on a high level and my daughter loves them a lot.
Edoardo Peniche
Edoardo Peniche: Best International School in Budapest We have lived in multiple countries and continents where my kids have been exposed to different types of education systems, we came to Budapest and we evaluated the different options in the market and if we have the opportunity to choose again, we will select again the BBIS. The philosophy and values of this school are not a marketing slogan, their world class teachers, leadership and owners work really hard every day to make sure they develop the students to become global citizens always encouraging and supporting them individually to achieve their full potential at their own pace. We feel privileged to have our daughters on this school.
Yasemin Oduncu
Yasemin Oduncu: My daughter has been studying in BBIS for already 3 years and very happy there. The management always responses to any problem. Great teachers, British curriculum,a big variety of after class actiities, brand new school with last techlogy equipment, opportunity to take private music classes from highly professional teachers. For us there are no bad sides...never thought to change to any other school.
Reshma Mathew
Reshma Mathew: Absolutely recommend this school.. Perfect for kids who moved into a new country ciz not only are the teachers extremely fantastic and easily approchable, they all make you feel welcome and at home.. ONLY SCHOOL WITH IB curriculum in Middle Year.

SEK Budapest International School: what do users think?
Krisztina Lotterné
Krisztina Lotterné: Very professional teacher staff, my kids love the school! It can be a good option, if you want to be in a real international community. They follow the Hungarian system, subjects are taught in English and in Hungarian. I strongly recommend it.
Edward Krudy
Edward Krudy: The school is generally very good. Pupils appear relaxed and engaged and appear to enjoy attending. Relationships between teachers and pupils are strong and the level of teaching and learning is generally high. The school does not appear to offer much in the way of individual attention for children - either high performing or under achieving - preferring a one-size-fits-all approach. Communication with parents is not good and teachers, administrators, and support staff generally do not reply to emails, which can be frustrating. The school buildings and grounds are well maintained and the classrooms are bright and airy. The computer room has just been refurbished with Apple desktops. Space is limited and sports facilities are restricted to a gym hall and a small tarmac play area. The sports offering is not strong and like many schools in Hungary sports are seen as the remit of independent sports clubs; this is in contrast to UK and US schools where sports are seen as an essential part of school life. Outdoor play is not actively encouraged during breaks. Music and drama are limited, there is no choir or school band and the children do not have an opportunity to perform beyond an end of year play. Art for children in the lower school is mainly drawing and colouring once a week. The library is not well stocked and is limited to text books. It does not appear to be a destination for children looking to borrow books or to find somewhere quiet and comfortable to read. The turnover of staff is high and teachers often leave in the middle of the school year or even at the start, which causes disruptions to lessons. The school does not involve parents very much and there is no PTA, just informal social media groups set up by parents that can be dominated by two or three vocal parents. The school would certainly benefit from fostering a dialogue with parents. Despite some of the areas where improvements could be made the school remains very popular with children and parents. It is currently running near capacity. This could be partly due to the fact that it is the most modestly priced of the ‘international’ schools. Despite having a range of nationalities the school is mainly Hungarian. This may be an issue for non-Hungarian speakers who could feel shut out. It can also be an issue for Hungarian parents who are paying in the hopes of a higher level of exposure to English. Native English speakers should be aware that the level of teaching in English does not correspond to the level in the same year group of a school where English is the main language. In this sense English teaching can sometimes look more like teaching English as a second language. Despite some of the issues, in general SEK Budapest is very a good school that could be an excellent school with the necessary improvements.
diablogun
diablogun: Worse school ever. Rude administrators and very poor understanding of English.
Response: Dear Parents, Please let us know what was the exact problem with our team. We would like to investigate the case. Best regards, SEK Budapest
Jasmin Amer
Jasmin Amer: They are very nice and helpful!
Roxána Hossó
Roxána Hossó: Great education program, well-trained teachers and nice environment.

Britannica International School: what do users think?
Sander Wimderlout
Sander Wimderlout: The school "Britannica" does not meet its private school status. It lost her level, which it gave in previous years. Behind the high price is low educational status. There are some teachers who are good, but they will leave school, as many teachers who moved to other private schools in Budapest last year. The cost of training was raised, the school administration said that the building will be built and improved. For a year now, nothing has been built or improved (see photo). Do you want your children to study in such an "elite" private school, and your money be used for unknown purposes? Food in the school cafeteria was often dangerous to the health of my child. I do not recommend the Britannica school - ANYONE.
Anson Li
Anson Li: Great school! Very professional!
Sandra Fekete
Sandra Fekete: I completed by IGCSEs at Britannica back in the day and it has been such fun to return recently and see just how far the school has come! There are still some familiar faces amongst the staff, which I think is a true strength of the school, and despite growing considerably since my student days, the family atmosphere is still there. #ProudAlumni
Kim Mina
Kim Mina: this school doesnt teach students properly, they dont even use textbooks. Too much focus on things like uniform and absents in school rather than on studies. There is also discrimination coming from teachers becaus ethey have their favorite students and doesnt pay much attention to others. Also there is a visible dividion between abilities of students , if a student isnt very good at the subject he or she automatically go to "stupid " group which can lower motivation to even study.
Georg Mv
Georg Mv: Excellent brittish school in Budapest

Grant Boyd-Gibbins
Grant Boyd-Gibbins: I couldn’t be more impressed than I am with the REAL School. The ideas behind its sustainability philosophy are ideas that reflect our best intentioned selves, and they are incorporated into daily school life in a natural and harmonious way. The drive up the Danube is beautiful and a great way to start the day. Our 10 year old son is so happy there, that I’m only sorry we didn’t join before. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Caitlin McDonald
Caitlin McDonald: The aim of the Real School is to dream and build a beautiful world and the children are given the opportunity to make this happen every day! The educators are outstanding, the school grounds are so lush for a city school, but most importantly children are heard and directly involved in guiding their own learning experience, it’s empowering to say the least.

Deutsche Schule Budapest - Thomas Mann Gymnasium, Budapesti Német Általános Iskola és Gimnázium: what do users think?
Sofia Abramovich
Sofia Abramovich: The building looks cool but the playground is horrible
Zsófia Németh
Zsófia Németh: Based on Nullte klasse: Grade 0 is spent in a very kind and positive spirit. Our child is developed with full attention, the German language is taught in a playful but well-planned way. Very thorough, individualized development, attention is directed to each child, this is extremely important to us as parents! It is clear that we will go on to primary school as well.
Bernadett Kovács
Bernadett Kovács: Grade 0 is best recommended to all prospective students. In a child-centered environment that teaches German playfully and also focuses on individual development, children spend their daily lives with great teachers. It’s a very super bridging year for the ninth grade between kindergarten and school, with playful lessons, afternoon rest and lots and lots of outdoor activities.
soph ie
soph ie: Was at school for three years a few years ago (grades 6-8), came back to Germany and was about a school year behind. The Abi is just thrown at you, you get the impression that you can buy a German Abitur here (according to the theoretical Baden-Württemberg standard). In addition, many students are massively snobby, so bullying is the order of the day. But the building and the extracurricular opportunities (AGs etc) are great, some of the German teachers also try very hard to orientate themselves on the right curriculum and not on the slimmed-down German schools abroad. If you care about the education of your own children and if you want to make it easy for your children to integrate into a real German school after your stay abroad, you should probably look for another school.
Kiss Zsuzsanna
Kiss Zsuzsanna: Grade 0 is wonderful, with extraordinary teachers both professionally and personally. But the most important thing is that even during breaks, my son asks when he can go to school!
mr nigga
mr nigga: A very nice, large foreign school with many AGs and a well-maintained sports field. The teachers are rarely good and often cannot teach the material. The subject matter is also often inadequate, which many parents and students find bad.

György Kulcsár
György Kulcsár: A modern, child- and family-oriented school. I consider it an example to follow for the entire Hungarian public education.
Rudolf Eszperanto
Rudolf Eszperanto: I was thrilled! 😁 We live in a world where we need as many schools as possible. In the last century, it was almost only for engineers to create new, technical objects, today even children can do it, and this is the way the world is moving. There was a very cute young woman who made a dancing robot. It was extremely cute; I liked this best. The children naturally enjoyed the event, as it was absolutely playful. Play to learn, develop, improve! Need more?
Tivadar Fedor István
Tivadar Fedor István: We had a really good robot competition there...
Ambrus Székely
Ambrus Székely: One of the best high schools in Budapest. It is only many months later that one realizes how much this institution gives. Starting with the fantastic programs (situational day, Christmas market, etc.), through the quality of the education to the experiences you get here. I spent the best seven years of my life here, I would never change my decision to enroll here. All the employees here are kind, cheerful and professionally prepared. Royal place
Henrietta Nagy
Henrietta Nagy: There is no textbook, no curriculum, the son of an acquaintance of mine goes there, but he has not learned anything in the last three weeks since the school year began.
Manu D.F.
Manu D.F.: Spectacular educational center from the point of view of infrastructure and technology, made up of a great team of teachers like Anett and Kati or history teachers like Mike. The educational system is very different and I think that a lot of things should be cleaned up from here for other centers. Like everywhere there are good and bad things, there is no perfect education but this school is getting closer and closer.
Robi Bakk
Robi Bakk: brilliant place, I recommend everyone take a photo of the kayak card
