Restaurante Picante: what do users think?
Andras Simonfai
Andras Simonfai: Not really a quality place. Foods are microwaved in plastics sometimes, no real cutlery just plastic. I would say nothing is really clean in the place.
TRANZISTOR Studio
TRANZISTOR Studio: Nice family like place with tasty Portuguese style daily dishes
Botond Palencsar
Botond Palencsar: Home made, nice dishes, personal service.
Gabriella Pimpao
Gabriella Pimpao: Amazing very homey Portuguese place
Gergely Sánta
Gergely Sánta: I came here for lunch. The selection was large and the food was delicious. It was very good value for money. The service was fine. :) The place is not very big, but when I was there I was able to sit down.
Balazs Levay
Balazs Levay: I read about the place in the guide “A Week in the City” as a cozy place serving Portuguese food where you can eat good prices and delicious food. I decided to give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed, it was a good decision, but either the profile of the restaurant changed or the guidebook wasn’t accurate, but there was only one Portuguese dish the day I had lunch there. When asked, I was told at other times there were usually 2 types of Portuguese specialties. Value for money is absolutely fine, but so I can only give 4 stars.
Martin Zsolt Lengyel
Martin Zsolt Lengyel: Excellent catches. Excellent staff. Thanks.
Stine Falk
Stine Falk: Super delicious and tasty food. Small local place nothing special compared to premises and then you ate of plastic plates. This is due to lack of space in relation to service and washing up. The host / owner is good at English and would like to talk / tell. We tasted the house chocolate cake for dessert - yummy Large portions and good price - about 80 kr incl drinks for both of us🙂

Essência Restaurant - Tiago & Éva: what do users think?
w ss
w ss: A beautiful restaurant in the center of Budapest. We just loved the decor and the ambiance. As for the food and service, both excellent. The service was attentive and yet not intrusive. The food was delicious and some dishes had a Portuguese influence as we found out the chef is from Portugal. Wonderfully made dishes with excellent taste. Now Essencia is one of our favorites in Budapest.
Kimberly Coniam
Kimberly Coniam: Absolutely lovely. Wonderful restaurant with equally wonderful service. This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint. I got the Hungarian menu and my friend the Portuguese/Hungarian menu, both with the accompanying wines. Every course was lovely and the wine pairings fantastic. My favorite course was the Dödölle” & caviar, and I never thought of myself as a caviar/roe person. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
Kiss Zsolt
Kiss Zsolt: Traveling around we found in Hungary this great restaurant from Tiago and Éva. I would have given 5 stars if all the courses where perfect and had a great teste. We had the 6 course meal. I’m total ever Bing had a great aroma and great texture. The desert was not for my taste. I really didn’t like it. That’s why I can’t give a 5 star rating. The rest of the dishes where good. From a rating from 1 to 10 I would have given 8. The service was great. The food was ready in no time. I would recommend talking more about what you are serving and explaining it more in detail. As a conclusion it was a good evening.
Tomás Silva Queiroga
Tomás Silva Queiroga: It is not by mistake it has a Michelin star. I went in a party of 2, and we were well served from start to end, and, although we ordered the 5 course menu, the kitchen gave us 4 extras. The experience and food was totally worth it. Booking in advance is recommended. They really accommodate food allergies and (health) intolerances. Everyone speaks good English there too. I recommend it.
Response: Dear Tomás, Thank you so much for sharing so many details about your experience at Essencia. We are happy to read that you have enjoyed your time at our restaurant. This is what we are working for, to make our guests happy and create great memories they can take home with them. Hope to welcome you back soon! Kind regards, Essência Restaurant - Tiago & Éva
Shay Shapira
Shay Shapira: In the past year I’ve traveled around the world and ate in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the world, looking for the best culinary experience. Yesterday was extraordinary! From the design of the restaurant to the kindness of the staff. I can proudly say that this was one of the BEST meals I’ve had- the closest to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant not only to those who are already in Budapest, I believe you should come to Budapest especially for this restaurant! Thank you with all my heart to the amazing staff of 3.12.21 night- you really made my trip. Promise to come again soon- hopefully for the second and the third Michelin stars.
ricky chuang
ricky chuang: It deserves a Michelin star. Because of the late reservation, there was only one available time during Christmas week unfortunately. Surprisingly, even the lunch menu catches my appetite. I’m glad that it’s my first meal after arriving Budapest. Highly recommended! It will be a once in a lifetime experience.
PhanTam Phan
PhanTam Phan: We had lunch here few weeks ago. It was nice atmosphere and cozy. Staffs are professional and polite. We chose 3 courses menu. The starters were amazing, absolutely tasty. Main courses were very good too. Overall, it was nice experience. We will come back
Megan Nicholson
Megan Nicholson: The best food experience of my life. My lovely fiancé gifted me a meal here for my birthday and our 5th anniversary. It was beyond believable. The food was amazing and the service was absolutely brilliant, every dish and wine being described in detail. I love how I got a birthday cake too. The 6 course menu is heavenly. Thank you so much, it made our holiday.
Response: Dear Megan, We are delighted to read your kind words, and thanks to your fiancé for choosing Essência as a venue for your celebrations! We are always aiming to deliver an memorable experience. We look forward welcoming you at Essência again soon! Kind regards, Tiago&Éva
Almog Carmeli
Almog Carmeli: Wow! We had ‏such a good time There. ‏first of all the service was amazing, and really kind. The Food was sooooo good!! Out of this world. The atmosphere was great and even the Chef served us the dessert. This was our first michlen dinning, and it was amazing.
Response: Dear Almog, Thank you for choosing Essência for your first Michelin experience. We are so happy to read that you had a great time and enjoyed the flavours as well. This is all that we are aiming for: the satisfaction of guests. We hope to host you again soon! Kind regards: Tiago&Éva, Essência Restaurant

Restaurante Fuego: what do users think?
Aaron Santa María
Aaron Santa María: Great restaurant along a hip street in Budapest. In general, the food was flavorful and everything was priced well. The chicken deserves praise for its tenderness. You also have to try their unique spicy blueberry sauce to accompany it. Lastly, the service was friendly and very fast—food was ready five minutes after ordering. Highly recommended!
Miklós Szabó
Miklós Szabó: Delicious chicken and fries, a very good atmosphere I the middle of the party disctrict. It is pricy compared to other similar places in Budapest. Their cheesecake I do not recommend.
Adnan Ilyas
Adnan Ilyas: Excellent service and great food. The seasoning on the chicken was great, home cooked potatoes were yummy and the chicken croquettes were out of this world… Absolutely loved it as I was struggling for food in Budapest.
Jesus Garcia Garcia (jesus_gg)
Jesus Garcia Garcia (jesus_gg): The food was delicious and the servers were very attentive. I recommend ordering the chicken and the duck. A curious fact about this restaurant is that it is of Spanish origin and most of the waiters speak Spanish. Recomiendo ir aquí si hablas español y quieres estar un rato como en casa sin hablar inglés o húngaro!
Agus PM
Agus PM: The duck, the chicken… wow what an amazing place at an insanely reasonable price. Make sure to order some of the appetizers since the potatoes, calamari, and croquetas are out of this world
Ivana Vasilj
Ivana Vasilj: Loved this Spanish restaurant, chicken and duck meat is very delicious and seasond well.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Emmi P.
Emmi P.: The food was good/standard. I found it overpriced. Their focus is definitely to cater tourists. The employees speak English and are friendly. I don’t think locals favor this place.
Johanne Tandy
Johanne Tandy: We came by this place on a whim and was not disappointed! Usually I find that chicken can be dry but there was no need for the extra sauces that we ordered (even though they were just as delicious). The chicken was absolutely lovely (the "breast" option on the menu was ⅔ of the chicken!) All of the food was lovely, service was efficient and friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere - all plates were left clean.
Аizhan Мyrzaly
Аizhan Мyrzaly: Really bad experience, ordered duck breast and did not get any meat inside. So did not eat anything. Ordered mango lemonade and no taste of mango. Extremely costy for the money that gave. Bad service, so doesn’t worth to go.

Regős Vendéglő: what do users think?
Roberto Sardi (greengofly75)
Roberto Sardi (greengofly75): Typical Hungarian cuisine in a warm and friendly environment. The carp soup was delicious as well as the other fish dish. Very good wine at a good price for such a central tavern house. Nice and smiling staff too, 5 stars.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Salsiccia Ungherese, Pollo Alla Paprika Con Gnocchetti Bianchi, Goulash Ungherese …More
Steve Briggs
Steve Briggs: Excellent meal and great value. Deer stew with croquettes, pork stuffed with sausage with potatoes and red cabbage. Nice cellar like setting. We have been here several times and never disappointed. Huge thanks to the owners and staff.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Response: Thank you very much. See you next time.
elvira pons (Mediterranean Spice)
elvira pons (Mediterranean Spice): Tasty food, underground restaurant. I had deer with wild sauce and was delicious. I want to come back to taste more things. Great value for money. I definitely recommend this place if you come to Budapest!
Ann Rava
Ann Rava: My husband and I have enjoyed this lovely restaurant in Budapest. The owner and the waiters are friendly. If you like to try traditional Hungarian food then this is a must visit. Jane Goodall even visited this place once and enjoyed the food.
Inna
Inna: Just loved this place! We spent 4 days in Budapest. And here we found the most delicious goulash at the most pleasant price :) The atmosphere is super cozy and the service is great, the waiters speak excellent English. I will definitely come back here again and again! But keep in mind that it is better to reserve tables in this restaurant in advance, due to high demand.
Jesse M
Jesse M: Very enjoyable meal in a great space. Be sure you have time to spend here as the dishes are authentic and take some time to prepare. Our waiter made some great recommendations when asked and we enjoyed appetizers, mains, and dessert.
Georgiana Baietilor
Georgiana Baietilor: Not a great experience. The staff was nice but the food didn’t meet our expectations. We ordered sone traditional dishes. Chicken stew with traditional pasta had almost no taste and beef stew was very salty and pasta had a strange sour smell. The desserts were almost tasteless too, seemed bought from supermarket and served on a plate. The prices are lower compared to other traditional restaurants but still overrated for the dishes they served us.
V O
V O: The food was interesting with deer on the menu. The beef was tasty. Quite an extensive menu. The fish soup was slightly too fishy for my liking, but then to each his/her own palate. Quirky cosy basement restaurant with interesting decor. Food takes slightly lng to be served but then it is a very busy restaurant.
Mina Eskandari
Mina Eskandari: Wow such a nice and cozy restaurant. I had the best and delicious Goulash here. Very hospitable hosts and delicious food. With very reasonable price. Highly recommend it while you are in Budapest.

Dionysos Taverna: what do users think?
van
van: Attention⚠️ This is NOT a tourist trap! Its easily one of the top 5 restaurants in Budapest.❤️‍🔥 Please do not miss this stop in your trip! Staff was really kind, food beyond words, the deserts to die for, and the place is incredibly beautiful! You are given grapes and a rose at the end☺️💞 Prices are way too well deserved, the quality, detail, amount, taste... Go and see for yourself✨
Cristina Danuletiu
Cristina Danuletiu: Amazing place with excellent food and a great atmosphere!! It’s like you’re travelling to Greece without leaving Budapest The food is absolutely delicious, even though a bit price it’s worth it ! Picture 1: lamb chops with spinach & sundry tomatoes and potatoes Price: about 30euros The most tender lamb meat I’ve ever tasted!! It just melt in your mouth. Picture2: eggplant salad with pita - starter Price: 5 euros eggplant salad Flavourful and delicious We received also some hummus on the house as starter. The coffee is also good and has a delicious almond cookie on the side. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is so cozy and nice! We’ll definitely come back to this place!
Bilqis “Miki” Rz
Bilqis “Miki” Rz: Lovely Greek food with amazing staff who handles their customers with respect and care! Restaurant, restrooms very clean. Food comes with good portion, pricing on the high end. Not sure what was the special occasion, but it was a nice touch cos every lady visited the restaurant walk away with a rose 🌹!
Damilia Arzybekova
Damilia Arzybekova: Totally recommend! It was my birthday and they even took picture of me ✔️The best service in Budapest-very kind and helpful stuff. They even take your jackets and put in the cloakroom 🧥 ✔️Interior is so unique- like you’re really in Greece ✔️Food is tasty, dessert 🍨 portions are nice. Vegetarian options are available. ✔️Toilets are really cool-modern and so hygienic(sensors so you don’t have to though anything) ➖Food is a bit price( tho seafood is understandable cause you can’t find in Hungary ) ➖It is very crowded and quite noisy(you wouldn’t hear the music much)
Lucie Křivánková
Lucie Křivánková: It was an incredible experience! First visit to Budapest and we visited the tavern twice. The food was absolutely perfect - we had gyros, salmon, moussaka and a strawberry dessert. Very nice service. You also get an appetizer (hummus and bread) and grapes after the meal. The women got a rose, which was very nice.
Joseph Sun
Joseph Sun: Decent Greek food in Budapest, it is a pricey place but worth a try. I love more flavorful food, so this is a new experience for my taste pallet. Very nice 8.5/10
Róbert Szakáts
Róbert Szakáts: We went to the place for a small date with my girlfriend. We ordered lemonade (classic and mine with elderberry) and it was really delicious. We got some appetizer (small bread and a little bit of vegetable cream) and it was also very good. My girlfriend had a vegetarian dish and I had some chicken with rice. Both meals were plenty and really tasty. We order lastly a dessert, it was something with chocolate mousse and it was also delicious. The place is nice and has good atmosphere and the waiters were kind and friendly. At the end my girlfriend got a rose from the restaurant. It was a nice experience. The only downside was the price. With voluntary tip the final bill was 19000 HUF, which is almost 50 EUR.
Ivanna
Ivanna: Great place, delicious food, unfortunately the service is terrible. We had a reservation at 19:30 and we ordered 15 minutes after that. Almost an hour passed and they hadn’t served anything. The waiter was rude when we asked him about our food. When the food arrives it was so much food and some of the dishes we ordered were included in other dishes.. The waiter could have advised us about that. At least everything was tasty and delicious.

Corcovado Brazilian Restaurant: what do users think?
Gabriela Krawczyk
Gabriela Krawczyk: First proper Brazilian restaurant in Budapest!!!! The staff is polite and friendly, they make sure to let you know any specials going on. The owners are amazing people as well. The food tastes so good and freshly homemade. I’m Brazilian and this really feels like a little piece of home away from home. Highly highly recommend this for any time of day, lunch or dinner. Can’t express enough how much I LOVED the food!!!!
Response: Thank you for your feedback and welcome back anytime, Gabriela! 💚💛 We are glad you enjoyed our place! 🏾
Arthur Alonso
Arthur Alonso: Super comfy atmosphere, gentle staff members, very traditional and original Brazilian food. The Caipirinha drink in the photo is particularly my favorite drink, made of lemonade and Brazilian Cachaça (something similar to palinka).Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Guilherme Heil Kinas
Guilherme Heil Kinas: Mostly people that will come here are Brazilians and tasted the brazilian food. For someone, who was already once in Brazil the food is actually bad for the price. The service was friendly, but extremely delayed. We mentioned that were short on time up on arrival, the waitress said it would be around 15-20 minutes (straight up lied). We waited about 50 minutes (so long we were able to go to the hotel get some stuff and come back). Three people attending 6 tables and no one at the kitchen basically, would go there again.
Response: Oi Guilherme! Muito obrigada pelo seu feedback! We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better in the future. We are hardly working on it. Please feel free to reach out to my email: marcele@corcovadorestaurant.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. Ingrid Menezes
Ingrid Menezes: All kinds of Brazilian food, it worth a visit. Polite staff and good beer
Response: Thank you, Ingrid!💛💚
Kaliia Ulanbekova
Kaliia Ulanbekova: The only good thing about this place is service. The guy and girl were so nice and welcoming. However, food that we ordered were so dissapointing and over priced. We felt bad that we paid this much for those food where rice was overcooked, solty, and dessert was frozen that we ended up eating ice in the middle part of cake. We were so dissapointed and we are not coming back eventhough we love brazilian food. I do not reccomend this place. Better to spend this amount of money for better food.
Response: Kaliia, thanks for sharing your feedback! We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better in the future. Regarding prices it’s important to highlight that we work with Brazilian products which has a high impact in our prices as they are imported overseas. Please feel free to reach out to my email: marcele@corcovadorestaurant.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance. Let’s keep in touch? Obrigada! Marcele Bacelar Kruljac Marketing Manager
André Belmudes Paiusco
André Belmudes Paiusco: We ordered caldinho de feijão, escondidinho de carne and strogonoff, coxinha and pão de queijo for starters. The food was good, seemed well prepared. However, our foreigners friends wanted more coxinha and it was over. Guarana was also over. Also the main courses took more than 1h to be served. Do not recommend if you are in a rush, hungry or want to sightsee on the same day.
Carlos Eduardo Manoel
Carlos Eduardo Manoel: Best Brazilian food in town. Great atmosphere and the staff is super nice! Really feels like a piece of Brazil in Budapest! Definitely recommended!
Response: Thank you for your kind words, Carlos! We are happy you enjoyed our place and we are waiting for you again soon!
Akhenaten Amenhotep
Akhenaten Amenhotep: Very nice place, great food prepared by kind Brasilian people.

Belvárosi Lugas Restaurant: what do users think?
Arie Rozichner
Arie Rozichner: Great place with a good taste of local Hungarian food. The location is also good. The service is superb, thanks to Christina! We had the chicken in paprika and deer stew. Those were accompanied by a couple of salads and a local draft beer, which was a great fit for the food. The prices are reasonable. Overall I recommend this place in Budapest. Good value for your money.
Gnanavel Chandramohan
Gnanavel Chandramohan: A very nice restaurant and the staff are really helpful. They explained to me their dishes and provided some good suggestions. I tried their strawberry lemonade and it tasted great. The main dish with deer was excellent which comes along with spicy blueberry sauce. For dessert I had their sponge cake as it seemed to be famous but it was not up to my liking and tasted just normal with a lot of whipped cream. The atmosphere is cool and a good place to try a few authentic dishes.
Elizabeth Chiang
Elizabeth Chiang: Great place to stop foot some Hungarian food. We got thr tourist set menu and the deer stew. The deer stew was the best Hungarian dish we had in Budapest.it comes with a fruit jam that really augmented the flavor. The goulash was good too. Prices are reasonable and location great.
Güven Özdemir
Güven Özdemir: We ordered Tourist Menu and liked it too much. It contains one starter (traditional soup), one main (traditional as well) and one dessert (yeah, it is also traditional:)). Three of them are very delicious and satisfying. Staff is also helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Recommended👍🏼
Caroline Alice Ganz
Caroline Alice Ganz: We had the tourist menu for 15€ which was delicious and included goulash soup, paprika chicken with Spätzle (not sure what the exact English equivalent is) and sponge cake. Super friendly waitress even if she was alone in service on the evening. Highly recommend 👍
Kurtis J. Samchee
Kurtis J. Samchee: The type of food and service that can really make your trip. Over beers, we discussed how good food/drink is the half the trip. The place is living proof. Good portions and great to experience traditional Hungarian cuisine.Recommended dishes Deer Stew with Potato Fritters, Pot, Salads, Snitzel with Parsley Potates, Goulash Soup …More
Francis Lau
Francis Lau: Asked the server for suggestions of the authentic Hungarian dishes and had a good meal. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely worth the price.
Matevž Zakrajšek
Matevž Zakrajšek: Very good, would reccomend! We ordered a Hungarian and a Continental menu which are something like representative menu options for traditional/local cuisine that consist of soup, main course and a dessert. Continental menu was quite good, but Hungarian was really something else. It was quite busy in a friday evening (20.00) and without making a reservation we were lucky to get the last available table outside at that time. Prices are more than reasonable especially fot the quality of the food you get here

Alice Lin
Alice Lin: By far the best restaurant in Budapest from our trip! Really cosy, family style restaurant with super friendly and accommodating staff. Each dish was absolutely exquisite with strong attention to the small details. We got the paprika and garlic bone marrow for starter, the beef goulash and duck pesto risotto for mains and the apple and sour cherry strudel for dessert - all dishes we had were 5/5. The homemade lemonade is really worth it. The price was excellent. Nothing but good things to say about this place, it was our last stop before heading back and what a high note to end on! Will definitely be coming back on future trips!! Thank you very much to the staff :)
CT PAN
CT PAN: Wonderful dinning experience in Budapest. Super servie and warm personalized welcome. The place was simple but we came for the most essential element: the food. They were extremely tasty. Fabulous cuisine. The wine choice was also excellent. Would definitely come back. Conclusion :Best meal in Budapest 🇭🇺 -✅amazing cuisine -✅warm service -✅personal touch -✅coziness -✅great wine pairing -✅local food They also provided crayons for drawing✏️
Catherine Raes (Catteken)
Catherine Raes (Catteken): The concept of this establishment is special as they cover the table with a large paper to draw and doodle on. So there are crayons 🖍️ in a cup to amuse yourself 🙃. The rest I guess was wrong timing as all went wrong. A dish forgotten. The white wine presented warm so we had the bottle returned. Sudden noise of breaking glass in the kitchen.. no more wine glasses so we had to drink out of soda glasses. The food itself, beef goulash and others had chicken goulash, was a lot of grease that shewed awfully in your mouth. So for the decoration and concept and good fresh aperitifs I still give it a three star. It’s a pity though as we expected much more of this place. Fun fact. The owner came to sit at the end of our table with a female companion. He had asked politely first though 😉it think it’s a very typical local Hungarian place to eat
Zoltan Gacsi
Zoltan Gacsi: Booked a table at around 1pm for the same night, on the phone the owner did sound a bit moody, but when we arrived there, he was kind, and we smiled at the "portrait" (caricature?!) of him on the wall. The waitress showed our table - which was upstairs. The cozy little restaurant inside is really unique, a bit old-school, but has an excellent atmosphere. The tables were covered with huge paper table "cloths", and coloured pencils were also available (+ a sharpener), so you could draw, or write anything you wanted. My date and I were extremely surprised because of this, but we thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the eating-out experience! The food was also superb. We had a great time there, and were fully satisfied. Absolutely recommended! Kid-friendliness: Draw-ability = coloured pencils + paper table cover
Jiwoo Choi
Jiwoo Choi: Homefood, dish filled with love. Met the owner and he had this restaurant for 20 years. This kind of ambience, service and food makes me want to keep discovering restaurants with story. Thank you so much for great last day experience. Indeed the best.
Lars F Clausen
Lars F Clausen: This was an interesting restaurant. I liked they had drawn furniture on the walls, a unique room. The food was nice a really value for money.
Laura Woythe
Laura Woythe: Cute restaurant with delicious food, from an octopus starter to the chocolate cake desert everything was very tasty. Plus you can explore your inner creativity while waiting for the food.
Greg Schochet
Greg Schochet: We ate here twice during our 3 weeks in Budapest, including for the last night. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy and casually elegant, and the staff is the nicest we encountered anywhere.
Ric Meynardi
Ric Meynardi: Awesome simple yet very good place to eat.We got a Chicken gulash, 2 veggy main dishes, good red wine.Smiling and kind people are working here.Highly recommended.

Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant: what do users think?
Kiss Zsolt
Kiss Zsolt: If you are in Budapest and want to eat something really great then you need to visit Grundel. Probably it’s one of the greatest restaurants in Hungary. The service was on point. They are really paying attention to everything. They are also having live music that gives the place an extraordinary feeling. The food was one of the best that I have ever tried in Hungary. If you are having breakfast you really need to try Eggs Benedict. Really wonderful place to eat and really recommend it. The prices are also not that high.
Response: Dear Kiss Zsolt! thank you for taking the time to leave a wonderful review. We look forward to seeing you again at our The Most Famous Hungarian Restaurant. Your Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant Team
Masha
Masha: The most delicious food I’ve eaten in Budapest so far. The prices are not too high, the sizes of the dishes are just perfect and the taste is mesmerizing. I really recommend to try the home lemonade (I really want to make one myself now). Also nearly every table is named after some popular person that ate there (Queen Elizabeth II, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Abba, etc.). 10/10
Response: Dear Masha, Thank you very much for giving us the highest rating, especially for writing about the reasonable prices and the quantity and quality of the food. We hope to see you again and that you will give our restaurant a good reputation. It was a pleasure to read your post. Best regards, Gundel's team
Bel
Bel: We had the signature Gundel Pancakes and award winning Somlo sponge cake with Gundel Coffee. All were great. If you are not into sweet stuff that much, best to share them. Make a reservation before coming as they are popular. Nice ambience and beautiful interiors. A recommended itinerary is to do Szechenyi Baths in the morning, Gundel Cafe for lunch and circus for after lunch activity. :)
Response: Dear Guest, Thank you for your time and kind words. We are delighted you enjoyed your experience. The Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant team looks forward to welcoming you back! For more information: www.gundel.hu/en/

George Ennifer-Stanley: My first fine dining experience and it was truly magical. Attentive staff, delicious food and beautiful live music. The thought of fine dining was rather intimidating at first but the staff at Gundel made us feel like we belonged there.
Response: Dear George Ennifer-Stanley, Thank you so much for your kind words! Our staff is always delighted to read such satisfied reviews. Gundel Cafe Patisserie Team
Kata Budapest tour guide
Kata Budapest tour guide: Recently renovated super nice restaurant in the city park. Opened in the 19th century, long history, connected to Karoly Gundel’s name. Lovely dishes, tasty coffee, yummy cakes in an elegant atmosphere. Pleasant live music all day long. Open from 9 in the morning. Right next to the Zoo and Heroes square 😉
Response: Dear Kata, thank you for your review. We are delighted, that you were happy with us. We are looking forward to welcoming you again soon in our restaurant. Stay safe and healthy. Best regards, Your Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant Team

Noy Erez
Noy Erez: Traditional restaurant - very old fashion. We had a reservation but the restaurant was almost empty. The food was good. The service was also good. Maybe too much attention... The music (piano) was a little bit too noisy
Response: Dear Noy Erez! Thank you for taking your time to write your feedback! Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant Team
Kristian Kielmayer
Kristian Kielmayer: Truly historic place in the little City Park (Városliget) of Budapest. Re-opened just recently so we kind of had some expectations but it was rather disappointing. Staff is friendly the interior looks fine. But then they have 2-3 different chairs which gives the place a strange feeling. We went for Saturday dinner, our part of the restaurant back half was only 50% full yet they still have such a close seating that you lose the intimacy and private feeling. Ca. 50cm to the next table is not really acceptable. The food was good, this was the good part and the majority of the 4 star rating is based on this as well as the people where friendly. But completely unorganized, there were plenty of waiters but lack of organisation (table next to us came 30 min later but got the main course earlier) left a sour taste overall.
Response: Dear Kristian Kielmayer, We appreciate your sharing your review with us. Thank you Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant Team
Monika Varga
Monika Varga: Very special Hungarian restaurant, part of our Hungarian history and food culture. We loved it very much. The pianist plays beautiful music. Thank you.
Response: Dear Monika Varga! Thank you so much for taking the time to rate our restaurant to the maximum. It is always a pleasure for us to have a positive confirmation. The team at Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant welcomes you back in the morning from 09:00 to 22:00, every day!

Stand Étterem: what do users think?
Markus Schmidt
Markus Schmidt: Best restaurant in town and compared to other Michelin stars underrated. Have been to two and three stars across Europe and don’t understand that here we looking at one star only. Great food, innovative dishes, super friendly and attentive team. Will be back again and again :) whenever I am in Budapest.
Malte Holm
Malte Holm: Having only one night in Budapest, we really had to choose from such a variety of one star Michelin restaurants. We were absolutely thrilled we picked Stand! Service is impeccable from the second you walk in the door and food is out of this world, with the best in local produce and creativity in the servings. Having been to many top restaurants in the world, this one stands out as one of the absolute best. Highly recommended and we’ll surely be back again in the future!
Matan Cohen
Matan Cohen: Stand is freaking OUTSTANDING! If you can, please make yourself a favor and go dine there! We were a couple that came to Budapest for a birthday and found out that there is a Michelin star restaurant 3 minutes walk from our hotel. We’ve found out a unique restaurant with damn spectacular food and an amazing staff! I believe the photos can deliver the experience!
Leslie Heindel
Leslie Heindel: This is a next level meal. From the service, to wine pairings, down to the tiniest of details- Stand didn’t miss a beat. I would 10/10 recommended booking this place. Get in now before people realize how insanely good it is. You’ll never be able to get a reservation again. ❤️
Alex Z
Alex Z: WOW! I am an absolute foodie and have been in many fine dining restaurants across the globe. Stand was an exceptional experience from start to end, and I am sure it is little time till there will be a second Michelin star. A few highlights: 1) Best-in-class staff, very attentive, know menu and ingredients inside-out, put customer needs first, 2) A menu that combines local Hungarian specialities with international/French touch, 3) Decorated to perfection, from amuse-bouche to petite fours, 4) just delicious food with a lot of surprising combinations — a true delight for a foodie. Posting a few picture, but they can unfortunately not capture the taste.

Vagon Étterem: what do users think?
Paul Szeliga
Paul Szeliga: Come hungry. The amount of food served here is unreal for European standards. Speaking of, the food is great and tasty.. the service is quick and this seems to be a nice little restaurant IN A TRAIN. However, there is outdoor dining and on this day that we went, we were asked to be outside. If I ever come back, the dining will definitely be inside as this is one of those most unique features that I have ever witnessed at a restaurant.
Paweł K
Paweł K: Wow. The goulash soup was perfect for me: full of meat, potatoes, small dumplings, bell pepper. Very tasty, colourful, spicy. Also the other dishes like Wiener Schnitzel, chicken, fries were satisfying and we left the restaurant full and half. I really recommend this place also because of a very friendly staff.
Myrsini Christopoulou
Myrsini Christopoulou: A great place with a unique atmosphere. The wagon is warm, cozy, beautifully decorated and the staff is kind, helpful and cheerful. The food was really good too, big portions and great prices. It was the best end for a tiring day walking the streets of Budapest.
Botond Horváth
Botond Horváth: The place had an extremely intimate and capturing atmosphere of a refurbished luxury train from the 20th century. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were immediately in love with the place, would highly recommend for romantic nights out. Probably not great for big groups, seating is very 2-4 people oriented. Pricing was very fair, 40 Euros for 2 people for food and drinks including tax and what I felt like was a generous tip.
Maciek “Wuj Matt w podróży”
Maciek “Wuj Matt w podróży”: Very nice and cosy interior. Professional service and suprisingly wide menu. Excellent goulash soup, tasty & strong espresso, fantastic Staropramen and decent dessert. Well deserved 5 stars!
Uberkinger Dojo
Uberkinger Dojo: One of the most atmospheric restaurants I have ever been. Prices are fair and exceptionally cheap for the offered presentation and value. Our waitress Vivien was super cute and caring. The place is a Gem in Budapest which should not be missed. Typical Hungarian kitchen, please read this fact as a compliment.
Madelief Martine
Madelief Martine: Really cool experience, eating inside the train. The waiters names were both Ferry and they were so helpful and kind! We had goulash soup, hungarian beef stew and chicken condon bleu with rösti and salad. Everything was very tasty! Reasonable prices and a very cozy restaurant.

Lecso Hungarian Fast Food: what do users think?
Aneta Melicharová
Aneta Melicharová: To be honest, this restaurant is one of few restaurants which offer food for fair price. Until 7 pm it works as a bistro, after 7 pm as a restaurant. I felt very comfortable there, the staff was very friendly. But I must say, that the classic burger I ordered was a bit burnt on the bun (as you can see on the photo), and you could taste it, co that was a pity.
Response: Thanks for your review. We always try our bests so this is very important to do better.
Gary Tang
Gary Tang: Perfect place to experience authentic Hungarian food. The owner was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. The staff was very professional and service was tip-top. A must visit restaurant for any visitors to Budapest. Enjoy!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Razieh Mousavi
Razieh Mousavi: The food was not fresh and not even edible. Compared to price, you can definitely find the better tasty food in Budapest. Don’t waste your money there. The pictures from the restaurant is totally different what We saw.
Response: The food what we serve is always fresh. We are sorry if you didn’t like it.
James G
James G: Legit Hungarian cuisine in a gyors kaja (aka fast food) setting..and they serve Borsodi Hungarian beer! Delicious, fast and affordable. Walking distance from Nyugati palyaudvar (and my hotel). Will be my one of my mainstays here in Budapest.
Response: Thank you
G.K Teoh
G.K Teoh: The Hungary local foods, it taste good and yummy especially the deer meat! It is superb yummy. The price charge with reasonable and very friendly and excellent services!

İpek Barçin
İpek Barçin: The atmosphere was pretty calm. The service was very caring and good. Gulash was tasty but the fish soup was average.
Response: Thank you
Botond Feczkó

Paprika Jancsi Restaurant: what do users think?
Bradley P
Bradley P: This was the first restaurant we stopped at after landing in Budapest. It was a nice introduction to some of the unique cuisine here. We both started our meals off with a goulash soup, which was really tasty. Then we ordered the pork over vegetable and potato skins. We both really enjoyed the meal!
Lucky-Twins
Lucky-Twins: Went to this restaurant with friends. Food was delicious, portions were really big, so we couldn’t finish it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Also we got some drinks from the restaurant as a compliment, and it made our day :) The restaurant is located in the center, it takes about 5-7 mins by foot to a metro station.
Erika Mae Torres
Erika Mae Torres: Me and friends came and the staff was not very welcoming at all. We were super hungry and we ordered food right away. Waited almost an hour just to find out that they mistakenly switched my order with another table and not even said sorry afterwards. Food was good and abundant though but the pork knuckle which we were looking forward to, was just a hard piece of meat, very hard to chew.
Michael Smiddy
Michael Smiddy: First place I tried after arriving to my accommodation in the city. Indoor or outdoor dining available with blankets provided if it’s a bit chilly outside. Opted for the wild boar stew with ‘noodles’ ie Hungarian gnocchi. Very tasty and would recommend. The pork schnitzel looked very good on the next table to me
Stefan Geisseler
Stefan Geisseler: I was always satisfied with the meat dishes (goulash soup, pörkölt) here. I would give this part a 4+. But whenever I came here, the beverages (Coca Cola in a bottle) were not really cold and not sparkling enough. It would be the simplest thing to serve cold and fresh beverages on a hot summer day, but they just don’t seem to manage it. Additionally the service is very poor. You order a “very cold” beverage and you just get it not properly cooled down without any comment, until you complain about it. But also then they do nothing else about it than to confirm your complain and walk away with a shrug. The side dish additionally was somehow even wasted this time. It did not smell fresh and I got some stomach problems after I left the restaurant, even tough I tried only a little. They tried to argue about it, that it is normal that it smells/tastes like that, but I was here and know how it tastes when it is fresh. You also have to tell the service several times to pay, as they walk away too fast, not listening to you till the end. And for the poor service and bad quality they charge you anyway fully (you are forced to pay the service charge).
Piotr Cegła
Piotr Cegła: Special place for tourists. Wonderful food, big portions, good bear. I recommend chicken breast stew with cottage cheese - delicious!!! If you are in Budapest, you should sit here and try hungarian food.
Adelina D
Adelina D: Good food, but not wow - nothing special, nice atmosphere. They have a very varied menu. But the serving should be a little bit improved.

Menza Étterem és Kávéház: what do users think?
Ajeesh-Musthafa
Ajeesh-Musthafa: Good place to try out authentic Hungarian food. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. better yo reserve your seats or might take time to get seats in peak time. Almost all the dishes we tried was tasty. Goulash, meat stew, stuffed cabbage etc all are mouth watering. The starters are good too. So are the deserts
Itay Stein
Itay Stein: One of my favorite restaurants in Budapest. The menu is stacked and generally all dishes are good, with noticeable highlights like the Hungarian stew, goulash, and especially the roasted duck on risotto! The place also serves awesome drinks. Very reasonable prices, restaurant is classy and well-designed, and the service were very friendly. Highly recommended.
sara gaeini
sara gaeini: Totally recommended 😎 We ordered some cocktails first, which was obviously made there and not ready ones. They tasted great and unique. Then for starters we tried goulash and I can confirm that we all love it 😍 It is tasty and really different taste. For main dish we tried four different ones and each of them was great. Well cooked meats, freshly salad and bread. I will go back for sure.
Michaela Lukáčová
Michaela Lukáčová: Restaurant is located at quiet street and is a perfect place to have a lunch. You won’t wait for your meal for too long which is great if you are looking for high quality dish really fast. Hamburger was delicious. Meet perfectly seasoned, really good combination with gorgonzola cheese. I appreciated mayo and ketchup with fries. Soup was delicious. I also ordered beef stew. Almost everything was good apart from some pieces of meat that were really tough and chewy, it really ruined the experience. Hence only four stars.
Tsvetina Ilieva
Tsvetina Ilieva: This is an amazing restaurant with great atmosphere, polite staff and very delicious food! It was always full (we were staying in the building next door) and I understand why! We ate there 3 times, because we wanted to try traditional Hungarian food and we absolutely loved it! Prices are reasonable. Just try the garlic cream soup 😍
Ahmad Gilani
Ahmad Gilani: Great food and service! Everything was delicious including dessert. The staff were attentive and friendly. I got the roastbeef and it was delicious maybe a bit chewy but still great. The soup and liver dishes were also fantastic. Portions are big also. Could definitely come again if I pass by!
Filipa Castro
Filipa Castro: Amazing food and cool vibe inside. The prices are fair. It was the best restaurant I’ve been to in Budapest. We had goulash as a starter, the duck with mushroom risotto and the stew with spatzle, the chocolate cake and the floating island and everything was absolutely delicious. If I’m back to Budapest I’ll definitely come back to this one and strongly recommend it to friends. You should book a table in advance and, even though the booking said we had only one hour, we stayed for two with no problem.
Ying WANG
Ying WANG: We came here twice during our stay. Garlic soup is a must try but very filling. Beef soup with dumplings is good as well. Schnitzel is amazing (thin and crispy) and so pan seared liver is also good. Beef stew is okay and I find the portion quite large in general.Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
