Café Gerbeaud: what do users think?

Amin Amin: Excellent food in middle of city center of Budapest.. Delicious lunch choice with amazing deserts. Service very friendly as pleasant outside seating. Interiors are unique en demonstrate richness of the city architecture. Highly recommended and not to be missed if you are in Budapest.

Ivanna: Nice cafe in Budapest. We came here twice because they have delicious desserts and it is such a nice cafe to drink coffee or lemonade (the best one is the raspberry lemonade). They have a terrace and also seats inside where you can also buy things as souvenirs. Nice service. Not cheap.

Jennifer Smith: Gorgeous interior of course, service slow as to be expected. We actually didn’t get the cakes but I got the aubergine cream and feta on toasted bread. Decent portion size for the price, and nicely plated, but the aubergine tasted somewhat fishy? Took forever to get the check.

Lauma Z.: Extremely delicious cakes and a beautiful atmosphere! The service was friendly and quick (~ 10 min of waiting time). The prices, however, were a bit too high (~ 6€ for a rather small piece of cake).

Dan Brown: Timeless classic that deserves it excellent reputation. I had the Gerbeaud 160. One of their newer creations. A birthday cake for their 160 birthday. It was amazing. I highly recommend this place. Then interior decor is gorgeous also.

Christian Harris: They have some great desserts. They also have some very average ones too. I had the 160 chocolate cake and the Dobas torte. We also had three other desserts, which were terrible (walnut torte, blackberry torte (tasteless) and a walnut concoction with cream). Service was pretty bad too. We were constantly ignored. They even walked away from us when we arrived. When we could actually capture their attention, they were very polite (automated). Been here a few times in the past, I doubt I’ll come again. They’ve now become overpriced. It was full of tourists too, so on the verge of becoming a tourist trap.

yvan lang: Quite disappointing. We were a party of 6 and tasted many dishes. The egg benefict was apparently very good, the avocado toast was also tasty but the green avocado sauce looked to green to be natural and the big disappointing came with the pastries. The croissant felt not fresh and the other pastries were not that much better. On the side of the drink the chocolate was good but the cafes were weak and not hot enough Not what we expected

New York Café: what do users think?

Monika Jakubczyk: I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with this place! I had a reservation made for Wednesday evening. We were attended to on the spot by an over-sympathetic waitress. We ordered gazpacho, goulash for the first course, Viennese schnitzel and duck for the second, and lemonade to drink. The food was fantastic. The soups were delicious and quickly served, as was the second course. The schnitzel was amazing, the duck melting in the mouth. Plus fantastic service and the atmosphere of the place (beautifully decorated, a musician played live piano). The sum for the dinner came out quite large, but it was definitely worth it.

Mohit Manjul: The Cafe lives up to its expectations. The decor if fabulous and the atmosphere is lively. The staff is very friendly and food is delicious. Plus the live orchestra made the experience even better. Keep in mind though that the experience is not inexpensive. For comparison, you can get a Coffee for €10. Also, table reservation is highly recommended, as there was a queue to visit without reservation. Overall, worth the experience.

armando g ramos: The place creates a very nice atmosphere as the architecture of the building is remarkable. Went there for a private event, and the conference rooms are spacious, the staff was very helpful as well. Unfortunately, the food was very simple and the portions very small, with no vegetarian options offered rather than rice and potatoes.. Prices are super high for a glass of wine, but the service was fine. Not planning to go there to spend a fortune for a lunch anytime soon..

Denis Nikolajev: This was the most beautiful cafe experience so far! Breathtaking interior! Live music almost nonstop! Must visit place when you are in Budapest! Menu has choice of dishes and set options for two persons. I recommend to book the table in advance, as it is very popular place! Food was tasty and service very friendly! And cappuccino was with the best interior view!

Andreea L.: Beautiful architecture and if you go, do check the inner courtyard from the hotel, really worth it. We arrived to find a huge line outside. They offer you a 5€ per person “priority” la e and you can cut your waiting time. If you can, make a reservation. The menu is available online and worth checking ahead of time. The building itself is indeed gorgeous and well maintained. Italian Renaissance style, marbled columns rise to meet ceiling frescoes and crystal chandeliers. The food is underwhelming and completely overpriced. You cannot even get a bottle of “tap” water on the house. And it is way too crowded. The fact that people come and only use this place for “insta pics” makes the atmosphere a bit laughable and less enjoyable. Prep yourself to see all kinds of outfits and party makeup

Ivanna: Beautiful place. Definitely worth a visit at least to drink a cup of coffee. They had live music, a violinist, it was great. We ordered some food for lunch and everything was delicious. The best for me was the duck with the cherry sauce. It is quiet expensive but the place is absolutely beautiful. Great service. Usually you have to wait 15-20 minutes if you do not have a reservation.

Jana: I can understand why many people put negative opinions on this. But if you want to have a good time in an amazing building, this is a must see. We had a private concert of the orchestra, super friendly people. The staff was good as: they do the job on their on tempo. The prices are a bit insane, 8,5 euros for a latte. But you know you pay for the place. It was a good coffee. We also shared some dessert, they were very good. So you can decide on your own if you want to have a amazing time staring at the ceiling and feel a bit of the magic (there were so many cosy corners, lights, a Xmas three) with your favourite company or choosing something else for half of the price in another building. For me it is a one time moment but I really enjoyed it.

Luqman Hasan: Well, one of the prettiest cafes in the world I guess. The place is truly amazing, like a palace, very nice and beautiful. However, you need patience when you visit without reservation, queue can be long doesn’t matter which day, and which time you come. It’s always full, so better do your reservation first. Some staff are polite and some feel like they own the place 🤣 but it wasn’t that bad. The food is amazing and tasty though the price is way above average for Budapest but that’s understandable because of the place. It’s a great experience anyway.

Bawan Ghorbani: New York cafe is an excellent place in the heart of Budapest. The price is higher than the usual, and the food didn’t meet the expectations, but it was relevantly easy to get a table even though it was packed. Beautiful music was playing, and even a song was dedicated to our table. All in all, a great place to visit when in Budapest. The architecture is overwhelmingly extraordinary.

Arch&Beans Kávéművek: what do users think?

Alev B.: Loved the place. Great specialty coffee, handsome service.😊 Large, spacious venue with extremely high ceilings decorated simply yet sophisticated. It almost has that alternative vibe for a co-working space but also cozy old-fashion cafe.Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Laura Gál: Super nice cafe in the heart of Budapest, definitely one of my favourites. Good prices, great selection, nice atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Also, it is a good place to work as they have good wifi, lots of plugs, and comfortable chairs. Would 100% recommend!

Mirella Horvath: We passed by the place and we could not resist to enter for a coffee, which was a very good decision. We asked for a cortado (with oat milk) and a small home made chocolate chip cookie. Both were very good and great quality and the staff were really nice.

Matias Pasonen: Staff is super friendly and has good language skills. Coffee selection has wide variety and they offer different types of milks as well. Aesthetics are very cozy, yet urban with a twist of fine tuned design. International Eduroam network is also available which is a big plus for students and travellers. Price wise drink menu is affordable considering quality. My overall experience was great and I would like to recommend this place for everyone, who are seeking for quality coffee and a time to sit down for a moment.

Jon Jain: Great spot for coffee. Big and open seating area, with plenty of working spots. Lots of folks on laptops during the day. Coffee is fantastic as well. Fun vibe with a groovy soundtrack playing in the background.

Reni Kadenszky: The staff is kind, the coffee is amazing and the whole atmosphere is exquisite.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Robert Rompf: The place looks really nice. It is cozy, atmospheric and very student friendly, but the coffee is very bad. Maybe I can’t speak for the milk coffees but the espresso was sour and extremely bitter to the point it felt spicy. Maybe I just got a bad batch of burnt coffee but unfortunately, it tasted horrible. If there is a next time I’ll get some milk coffee, but I don’t know yet. TLDR: don’t get the Espresso

P F: Great, spacious coffee shop with a good ambiance and friendly staff. Love the coffee here too! I wish they had a wider selection of food available to bridge the "lunch break". Edit: I still like the place BUT the wifi hasn’t been working reliably for the past 1.5 months. Unfortunately that’s a deal breaker… ☹️

The Perfect Match Espresso bar: what do users think?

Chris Rich_HH: Simply the best flat white in Budapest. Cozy Little espresso Bar, with super friendly staff, and perfect cleanness. We will definitely come again! Thaanx

Cosmea Isabell Christoleit: You’re looking for the best coffee in town? Don’t hesitate to go here. Besides a very good range of different coffees and types of preparation, the stuff here is very skilled and their kindness was mind blowing and heart boosting. If they have, take their coffee beans esp. the Burundi is a tongue tickler! Thank you for the experience and best from Berlin! 💎💙💎

Peter Pan: amazing experience. never seen a better rating. Keep the legend alive !

Julie Christiansen: We found this place when we were visiting Budapest in 2019. It is an amazing place!! We stopped every morning for coffee. The people were really friendly and helpful with making our selections. I can’t put into words how awesome this place is. If your in Budapest this is a must!

Kate Ovsianyk.: The most kind coffee shop with an outstanding coffee. ☺️ highly recommend to come here for a good coffee “The milky match” or “Italian job” both are delicious and the staff here is super cute & friendly. 🙌🏾

Isabelle Marafko: Nice cosy place to drink your first coffee in the morning to start a wonderful day 😍

Tessa Antonelli: The coffee is excellent - they have their own roastery and the barista was very friendly. I had a flat white, and a chocolate croissant which is from Cirkusz next door and was also top notch :)

Rich Grant: I’ve been all over the world and make a point almost daily while traveling to drink espresso. Yesterday I had the best double shot I’ve had since I arrived in Europe a month ago. If you’re an espresso purist like me this is a very worth while stop to make.

Stephen Lim: Lovely cappuccino, Mozart Cake and Brownie, and hosts—both the lady Edit Juhász and the gentleman Attila Fatér 💐

Dóra Plájer: Coffee is okay, smoothies are really nice. Unfortunately it has only a small terrace and ín windy weather you have to hold on to your chair not to be blown away.

Zsófia Pintz: This is the only place in Hungary where they serve Caffe Fantini, a great coffee brand from Rome, Italy. I have to say that the coffee is just amazing! This small place opened in 2018, I visited it couple of times, and I was always highly satisfied with the quality of the food served there. There is a huge selection of different organic, healthy foods, all provided by small local producers. The cakes, the white hot chocolate and the cocoa roll is my favorite, but the granola and the oatmeal is awesome too. There are also bagels, salads and glutenfree, sugarfree desserts too. It is really hard to choose. The cafe is quite small, maybe 10-12 people can sit, but as I heard, there is takeaway too.

Anıl Günbattı: Nice small cafe.

pratik kajaria: It’s a very cosy place just round the corner from Szell Kalman Ter. The staff is very kind and they all speak English. Breakfast is of very good quality

Emily Stephens: A small but wholesome cafe. Really friendly staff, yummy food, good coffee and reasonable prices!

Christian Weiß: Very beautiful little gem. Please take care that there are only 6 to 10 seats. However the to women were very kind and you can get fresh juice and sandwich made with love! Highly recommend it!

Steve Mojzsis: Our local place now. Microscopic, but great coffee and pastries with a teeny terrace. Bust street near the M2.

Martin Gill: Really good ice coffee with great portion of ice cream and whipped cream. Good prices and lovelly staff

Jonathan Wilcox: A really gorgeous little artisan coffee shop. The cold espresso tonic was a particular highlight! The home made cakes, sandwiches and all-natural energy bites were delicious. The young lady running the place was incredibly helpful, spoke brilliant English and even assisted us in booking a taxi for us when we were struggling to get hold of one. Can’t recommend this little gem enough.

Clarissa Butelli: Lovely place, great service, team is lovely and offers great suggestions. We had a great time. They also have the most adorable dog.

Camden Food Co.: what do users think?

Alper Yıldırım: They have nice coffee and food seem also nice.I liked how staff were friendly. 🥂

Ирина Байкова: Literally the worst airport food place I’ve ever been to. The lady at the cash desk ignores clients for about 10 minutes, walking over the place and not looking at customers who are waiting to order. I made my order of coffee and pie (3 eur coffee was nearly cold and 4 eur apple pie was surprisingly tasteless), and asked for a glass of water for the medicine. And she said that she doesn’t have water. I asked her if she makes tea, and she said yes, but water-she doesn’t have it🤯 Visiting this place on Dec 2, 2022 is my worst airport experience so far)) If you get the Budapest airport look for some other food place to avoid disappointment

Rosen DİMOV: Everything was fresh and delicious at 4 am and the staff was smiling and friendly. It was great to experience a breakfast there! Btw highly suggest you the baguette with Turkey ham and caremalised onion…

Emese Horvath: Soy cappucino was delicious and the tofu salad sandwich...OMG...a must try! The best food place at this airport

Lenka Šedová: It was really nice time that we spent here, the waitresses were really nice and helpful. One woman has burned her hand with coffee and the stuff helped her to cure the scald. Their food is really helthier than the other food options on the airport. Also vegan food can be found here.

Pieter-Jan Coenen: Terrible exchange rate, but price for paninis is great and it tasts good. Employer tries to make you pay in euro.

Firuze Alizade: They were really nice. Sandwich was not very tasty thoughFood: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Galfi Mate: Staff was swearing infront of kids and disrespectfuland arrogant towards an adult, overpriced.

Craig Lambie: Coffee was fabulous. Had 2 filter, hot and cold. It was a hot day. Delicious. Then vegan range was excellent. So much choice for cakes, also they had Oatly, which to me is a sign of quality. Their specialty coffee was incredible. More blends, roasts and regions than you could possibly try anytime... This almost lost me tbh... How can you do so many so well? But the coffee I tried was excellent. On food. I had the vegan Hungarian trifle, which was amazing. Staff where friendly and attentive. Overall it was a great experience and I will be going back again.

György Kiss: One of the best specialty coffee roasters on Bp. Look for their Ethiopian coffees. You can find them inside the Madal Cafe.

Tamás Tajti: The best roaster!!! I have been buying coffee beans from here for years. :-)

Ádám Várady: My favorite coffee roaster in Budapest. They belong to the Madal. Standing with freshly roasted 200g coffee.

Gábor Kiss: There is always some kind of freshly roasted specialty coffee on their shelves. Recommended place.

Úri cipő - kaptafa: what do users think?

Cristian Perez: What a wonderful experience. This is truly a gem in Budapest. The service is outstanding, the ambience absolutely unique and the food… the food… just incredible. Eggs are made with absolute precision, bread to die for and sauces just great complements. Sure, it is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for! Be sure to try the poached eggs with yogurt, it will change your life!

Robert: I really liked that place a lot! The servers were really nice, the food was super tasty and the food came very quick. I had Mr. Molnar which was a Brioche Bun with Egg and very good after drinking. Besides I got fried pickles, which were unexpected great. I really liked that a bottle of water was on the table, which we could use. The ambiente in the restaurant was very nice!

Hidi Ong: I think it’s a famous breakfast/ brunch spot because the customers keep coming in after us. The service is good as they will first explain to us that the seat had been reserved but we can have it first until the customers is here and they will help us to switch the place if they’re empty table. The foods are delicious, the portion is not as big as we thought but it’s just nice for us.

Anchelee Cassandra: Very nice and chilled out breakfast place. So many good egg dishes on the menu, but had Mr. Molnar and mrs. Molnar, which was really good and just perfect amount for breakfast. Recommend their lemonade too. And don’t forget to get the fried pickles!

I-Hsin Yang: Really lovely cute tiny breakfast cafe. Decent coffee and a large selection of breakfast. Nothing too spectacular but just a nice place for regulars.Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Silvia Martišová: Wow. Just wow. Hidden gem. A beautifull cozy cafe with great coffee and food. We went there for brunch and were amazed. Both of us had Mr. Molnar. Soft and fresh brioche, wonderfully done eggs and over all it was our favorite food in Budapest so far. Our only regret is that we haven’t tried the french toast. The staff was very nice and they also made my sandwich with bacon instead of sausage. Wonderfull.

Kerkko Pelttari: Egg dishes were excellent, good meatless options (little vegan options though, but that is quite common in Budapest). Espresso was good, but not groundbreaking.

Nóra D.-Nagy: The CPR sandwich is sooooo fulfilling and delicious, with an incredible amount of cheese. Only a tiny bit of spicy sauce could make it even better. Fried pickles are crunchy. Mr Molnár is creamy and delicious as well. Dessert was once again fulfilling and so rich in flavours. Will definitely come back. I absolutely loved it. Service is also amazing. They bring you free cucumber water. Really kind people, fast serving.

Anna Kopotilova: Let’s count this as a 4.5-star review. I really liked what I had – flat white and mr molnar. I even skipped the usual lunch after this sandwich. But I tasted the sandwich my husband ordered as well and the bread he had was so oily. I guess it’s just a matter of my expectations though, the bun I had was perfect. Also, the service was outstanding, the waiter had a beautiful voice and spoke classy English

Adela Plesnik Schicker: Don’t know what I love more, the vibe, the flowers of the coffee! ♥️

Dóra Kováts: The delivery went fine but besides that the bouquet was a huge disappointment. It is a nice one, but absolutely nothing special considering the high price, with not long lasting, cheap flowers, arranged in a completely basic way. Despite the size ordered it was even quite small. I could get a better one for less than half price at a florist on the outside shops of a hypermarket.

Tamara M: I used only the flower delivery option today and would like to praise to fast and high quality service! Yes, it does have a price. But where I needed quickly on a Sunday flowers within 3 hours, discussing with the delivery contact, they did indeed deliver a beautiful bouquet even before the agreed time in great quality. The bouquet looked as in the pictures on the webpage where I could pay easily even with Paypal in advance. Now that I see the good reviews about the coffee as well, I put in on our list of places to visit. PS: The flowers were very well received:)

Kenny Nguyen: Thomas is so kind!

Caesar Schütz: Thomas is the best!

Maxim Postyn: Love the place. Fun, quiet, pleasant. The place to be in Budapest

Dániel Kékesi: Bestest!

Jesse Eisenberg: Bulletproof coffee!!

Dr. Siklós Krisztina: In addition to an end-of-school turmeric latte, while sipping a smoothie, the wonderful graduation bouquet was also prepared. Thank You:)
