Liam Bottomley: Had a great experience here. Visiting Hungary for Christmas, and needed a haircut for various reasons. Unfortunately not quite there with the Hungarian, but my barber did speak enough English to understand what I was going for, and even more, he contacted his boss who spoke fluently just to ensure he understood what I wanted. It was as easy as showing a photo I had of my previous cut, and he was able to recreate it from there. I would certainly recommend a visit for anyone who needs a good haircut at a fair price and finds themselves visiting Budapest.

Ben Greenfield: This was a proper haircut. I am from America and am studying abroad in Budapest and was panicking because I did not have time to get a haircut before I left. I was concerned about going to a new hairdresser especially in a new country. As someone who is very particular about their hair I have spent over $50 for a good haircut in the USA. Renata did an incredible job and I can honestly say that this is one of the best haircuts I have every gotten. She is so kind and a great conversationalist and very talented with her scissors. The price was also extremely affordable (especially for a student like myself). I would consider flying back here even when I am in the USA to get my haircut by her. Mr Xiong: I used Google translator and it was so awesome. After much confusion on what I wanted, I finally just said "I want the same hairstyle but just shorter." The barber said ok and took care of it easily. I saw another local getting his haircut and he was just chatting away with his barber like a regular. I love this place. Price was very reasonable and I would definitely come back.
Dávid Bálint: The hairdressers working here really know there job and they are good company too. It is really close to my place so I like it. However, I would say it is a bit overpriced taking into consideration that it is located at one of the worst squares of Budapest.

Armin: The haircut was nice and the barber was really perfect. However, be sure to carry with you some cash in the local currency as the card payment is not accepted and check twice how much you pay. The person behind the counter told me that I could pay in Euros and said first that the total - 8100Ft - corresponds to 18e (which is pretty accurate). When I gave her 22e (leaving a tip of 4e), she took her calculator and did a new conversion using (1e = 300 FT - which is really far from the current rate where 1e > 405 FT) and asked me to pay 27e instead of the 18e. I ended up taking cash from an ATM nearby, paying and leaving a tip in FT, and it was still 7e less than the price they wanted me to pay in euros...
Miklós Szabó: Very nice staff, great results. Also, you can get a whiskey or a soda while waiting. Booking is recommended, but sometimes pop-in appointments are also an option
Martin Toudal: Had my beard done here at Black Sheep. It was easy to make a booking online. A nice welcome and a really good job making my beard look good again. Only 4 stars because i was not able to pay with card in a big shop like this in a big city like this. 😊

Matthias Hebben: Hello I was here for a beard shave. However my experience was really bad. First I was treated rough like a peace of meat and my he put some very strong ethanol mix on my skin which burnt painfully. Secondly I got overcharged with 7.000 Ft. normal price is 4.000-5.000 Ft. Lastly I got several skin irritation after the beard shave and my skin was still hurting. It was my first and last time here and I’ll definitely not come back.
William Skura: I was in Budapest a couple years ago, and wanted to get a haircut and beard trim. I found Peter online- he had great reviews, and I liked the vibe. English was not his strong suit, but after I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted, we connected in a different way. I cannot articulate exactly how amazing the experience was, but I still talk about it to this day. The most unique, a true purist; expect a totally different experience than your typical barber. Well worth it. After all these years I still have not found the words- I can only encourage you to check him out and find your own! Services: Hair shape up , Beard conditioning , Scissor cut

Michail Kalaitzakis: Best barber by far! Simply a master of his profession. Do not be put off by the way this barbershop looks from the outside (neither from the inside). The barber is very friendly although he doesn’t speak much English. The guy is a perfectionist. I mean a perfectionist! Attention to detail at its finest. It took him 1,5 hours to do my haircut the way I wanted which was coupled with a wash, head massage and possibly 5 different products on my hair! The best haircut I have ever had in my life. I am seriously considering flying in just for him. I highly (highly) recommend to pay him a visit. Solid 5 stars from me.

Andreas Falklund: My father in law and I both got a hot towel shave. Was quite a waste of time and money, as we both left with scruffs of beard on our face. Staff was friendly and all, but don’t go there for a “clean shave”, they will not deliver.

Máté Kovárik: One of the worst cuts I have ever had. The barber only spent 12 minutes with my hair. He did not use many techniques, barely touched the scissors. He primarily used the clipper. So that he saved a lot of time on me. At the salon it did not look as bad as it looks now. So when they asked whether the cut was ok, I nodded (I have to admit). Anyways, I am wearing a hat even at restaurants at the moment. Not a fan.

Gilles Simon François: I made an appointment yesterday for this morning at 9 am. Problem on the metro line 2 blocked 10 minutes. Arrived at 9:10 am and the hairdresser who is not busy refuses to do my hair. I have 3 hairs to cut, completely ridiculous and anti-commercial.
Ahmed Bin Eid: Not acceptable at all, the barber “Peti“ ruined my beard and shaved my moustache without even asking. I didn’t get what I asked for and then when he realised he made a mistake he laughed it off. Manager was “unavailable”. Very unprofessional and skill level is not as advertised.

Khalil Mebarkia: I have seen a sponsored post on facebook about the barbershop, and that time I needed a haircut ASAP, I called the one where I used to go but there was no any sooner appointment. I told myself you should try The Celtic Barber Budapest. Once I got there, I have got a friendly atmosphere provided by Eliza and Thomas, great environment, definitely has a flavor to it that makes it unique. I have been living in Hungary for almost 3 years, and I always struggling with the barber to explain how I want my haircut, but at The Celtic Barber, I could easily get a great listeners who deliver what you ask for precisely, and also offer great advices. Prices are generally the same as most other shops but the talent and staff outmeasures your average hair salon. Seriously if you haven’t heard of scissors-over-comb, go in and experience it as a STANDARD, you won’t even have to ask. This place is just amazing!

adrian m (Minimogul): Great spot in Budapest if you’re looking for English speaking stylists who are highly skilled & know how to do more than just standard, local styles. It’s always kinda “scary” getting your haircut whilst traveling, but this place was recommended by several people online, so I went to check it out. The owner/ manager, Eliza, has lived all over, from Paris to Dublin Ireland to now Budapest, speaks multiple languages & has trained in top salons. It took me a few days to get an appointment with her (a good sign when demand for a salon/ stylist is high), but I’m glad I had the patience to wait. She listened to my description of what I wanted+current complaints about my hair, & even suggested some alternative options & products, both of which I am glad I accepted. I walked away with an inexpensive haircut that I’m very happy with. It was exactly as described. They also offer beard trims, hot towel shaves, father/ son cuts & a few other “twists” on basic haircuts, most at prices in the 5000-7000 HUF range per person/ cut (buzz cuts/ clipper cuts I think are even cheaper). Great place. Recommended.

Sean McAnuff: I went for my first haircut and beard trim with Daniel the other day and I am beyond impressed! It started off with him offering me a variety of beverages and getting to know each other, and then he carefully listened and asked questions about what I wanted done for my cut that day. He was very thoughtful and did not rush at all. He spoke great English and kept conversation throughout the haircut. I will 100% be returning and I am so happy I found a barbershop that is fairly priced, professional, and caring.

I positively recommend the place and at least Kitti for pedicure treatment. :) UPDATE: I also used a hairdresser. I highly recommend Andi to everyone who is liberated, casual and cattle in a good mood and of course his work is full of professionalism!
