Budapest Christmas Fair and Winter Festival: what do users think?

Pom VANWINSBERGHE: Decoration, it was nice. I went there because of the hot wine. I saw small panel price of the food it was expensive. I wanna try one but the guys would to close the shop.. So they would not to sell it for me really not polite of service. Better go restaurent for eat but drink is okay here.

Inna Gefen: The place is nicely decorated. The food is overpriced... way way overpriced... It could be fun to hangout and have a good time here but those unbelievable prices ruin all the fun. Go to a good restaurant... it will cost 2/3 to 1/2 of the christmas market price and the food will be hot and taste much better!

Fletum Fletum: The Budapest Christmas market was nice but nothing too spectacular, even though I read some articles claiming it to be the best Christmas market in Europe. There are tons of local drinks and food to try, however, I would recommend doing this in a proper Hungarian restaurant as the prices can be a bit salty. Nevertheless, there a lot of handmade products for sale with mostly affordable prices.

Dennis Schladebeck: We really enjoyed the Budapest christmas markets. Access control were quick, the market itself not too full. Good selection of hand made goods and food stalls. We quite enjoyed the mulled red wine. Nice, hot with tasty spices.

Andreea L.: There were 2 markets: Christmas fair in Vörösmarty Square & the Advent Feast at St Stephen’s Basilica. Unsure where “the most beautiful” nomination comes from to be honest. We had one evening where it was raining heavily and they did not build any covered-up places for people to eat under. What is great is that you can easily pay by card everywhere. Otherwise, the food we had (in front of the Basilica) was hands-down, terrible. They re-heat the food (after they cook way too much for whatever reason) in microwaves. We paid 20€ per person for a portion of food (for example - 1 portion of cabbage rolls with polenta - 20eur) ridiculously expensive. However, do try the mülled wine, they seem to be preparing it with more care and it is definitely tasty.

Christopher Anderson: Decorations are really nice and with the crisp cold air gives off a really christmassy feel. Unfortunately the markets are really overpriced and they just want to rip you off as much as possible. Fortunately there was a few things close enough by to keep us entertained. BE AWARE of street scammers with birds and the taxi drivers

Market1 Hungarian Souvenir and Gift Shop: what do users think?

Renz L: Great variety of items, staff are very friendly and accomodating. They also have a rock, paper, scissor game where you get 5% discount if you win! Some items are good price here but i noticed that some are way more expensive here than the nearby shops.

László Fülöp: One of the best souvenir shop I have visited so far. Wide variety of choices of every kind of souvenirs. I can only recommend to have a visit if you are unsure what kind of gift you want buy. They have everything. There is a public toilets which is hard to find this area. The whole shop is clean, the shop assistants are very kind, if you are unsure about anything just ask them. If I come next time then I’ll visit them again.

Itay Zusmanovitch: It has many overprice souvenirs that you can find in the big market of budapest (Nagy vasarcsarnok) in much cheaper price. Expect for easy location and wide hallways compared to other small stores, it is not worth it

Sophie K: It’s a super lovely place with wonderful gifts for your wonderful friends! Never miss it if you go for a visit in Budapest

Márton Kuna: Awesome products. Very kind and friendly staff. Must to visit if you looking for an excellent Hungarian souvenir.

Petrisha: Great shop and very fun way to get a discount - by playing rock paper scissors. They have nice souvenirs.

Shiri Gilat: Great selection and very comfortable! Get out of the cold and go shop there! Very nice and helpful people!

Arushi Pattnaik: One of the best places to shop a gift for your special ones. Keep it up. Merry Christmas

andrea hagyanek: The best place to work for. I am very happy to be here. We love our customers and want the best for them. If you want beautiful souvenirs, good music, kindness, a piece of Hungary or just a little chat, come in. We are looking forward to welcoming you from any part of the world. #love #weareone

The Biggest Souvenir Shop-Market in Budapest: what do users think?

Mehrzad Mehrvarz: I loved the items and bought bunch of souvenirs but almost all them were overpriced. I believe 2000 HUF for a paprika Keychain is a bit too much.

sherif shothe: very creative shop, they use palett in a great way. I advise to look. they have a LOT OF souvenirs...

Fafou 31: Lot of choice of many fines product of Hungary but too expensive, the prices are so high compare to the real prices It’s not fair 😒

Majed Alashari: I can say it is the best souvenir shop in Budapest. Make sure to get the Hungarian chill paper & magnate for you fridge. There is a very speed WiFi.

Pratibha Alur: Best place to shop for souvenirs.. All in one place

Memories of Hungary: what do users think?

SharkeyYeo: The one at Hosok Tere, staff are super rude and unfriendly. The ear-rings price is 4,500Ft but when payment its 5,500Ft and the staff says that is the old price. They are making Budapest a BAD impression. 👎👎👎

Lloyd Sullivan: Avoid! Way over priced stuff. Too expensive. Rude staff. Security followed me around like I was gonna steal...they are the thieves!

sofie theodoridou: Great store for souvenirs & nice prices!

Maurits Falkena: Overcharges tourists. Left a great memory of Budapest. 15 euros for a magnet and a card. Don’t go to this tourist trap!

Saquib Khan: A little expensive but established at one of the prime markets in Budapest, seems justified. A great variety of thoughtful gifts ranging from colourful pencils to traditional umbrellas to hungarian paprika and flavoured teas. The ladies on the counter are pretty warm and helpful.

Fiammetta Aldeghi: I choose a 2015 Tokaji bottle from the shelf. It was swapped for a far older 2008 bottle while wrapping, completely inedible by now and with a strong acetic taste. Dry wine of that age shouldn’t be in any shop. Alas, I noticed I got cheated too late.

Brian Bewley: This place is a tourist trap. Ridiculously overpriced...e.g. 2600 forints for a CHEAP refrigerator magnet. Go anywhere but here. Found many other great shops around Budapest.

Prezent: what do users think?

Taiji Wang: We stumbled across this store while walking around Budapest and had to go in because everything in the display window looked so cute. All the items in the store are sustainably made and of high quality. Great selection for souvenirs or just to treat yourself. I’m looking forward to getting a lot of use out of my new backpack :)

Simonpietro Cecchini: The most interesting shop in Budapest, with a selection of precious handcrafted gifts made in Hungary. You can find beautiful jewels, objects, sustainable items, clothes (and also wines). Here you can also find magnificent prints with the most impressive buildings of Budapest. The staff is very polite and friendly: not to be missed.

Meri Rose Ekberg: This is an amazing local shop with quality items and fun tourist gifts. They carry their own line of organic cotton clothing (cotton sourced from Germany). They also have a broad selection of artwork depicting the city made by local artists and available as prints, postcards, notebooks and more. My mom and I spent a long time in here exploring even though it is a small shop and left with things for others and ourselves. I highly recommend supporting this business. It is an easy walk from great sites in Buda!

SY Hope: A worker (with glasses) in this place is so sweet and nice. She explained all the products details for us. We bought some gifts here

Sarah: A beautiful shop with sustainable products! So great for gift ideas when you visit Budapest. They have locally produced candles, unique postcards & magnets.

Jaqueline Corradi: Great place to buy unique souvenirs from Budapest. The store has an amazing selection from local, small brands.

Noemi Sebok: Sustainable Hungarian Designer Products⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Christian Bayer: First class quality Hungarian souvenirs that are also really creative and clever :) Friendly and sincere staff and also, the best graphics on t-shirts

Diana J: A very nice place to buy souvenirs, with friendly staff and quality gifts. I would totally recommend it!

Stefan Emmenegger: They have really good palinka and above all the right paprika from Hungary and not just the cheap tourist stuff. Really recommendable!

Julian Elfers: If you are looking for really high-quality and special souvenirs, you have come to the right place. Very nice service, could tell a lot about the products and there was even a small palinka sample! Highly recommended.

A S: Great store with extensive variety of seasonal and timeless gifts. Prices are really reasonable and huge array of items available.

Ana Stevanović: I love this shop! You can find perfect gifts and many funny presents here. I love buying here because there are things that make me smile

Philip Shaker: We arrived 11 minutes before they closed, and we were greeted by a guy , who told us very rudely that they were closing soon. While we were in the store, several people were turned away at the door by the same guy. We bought our stuff and left the store 8 minutes before closing time.

Cyntia Hegyes: Literally the best store 💕

Sanja poljanski: Cute shop, with lots of stuff for parties, celebrations, birthdays, Xmass, New Year and all the hollidays... always a quick stop by to see what is new.

Kağan Ç: My favourite store in the Europe, and of course my favourite shop in the city. There are various and cheap products from almost all categories. If you did not find any gift for your friends, you would like to visit this place.

Gali Yassour: The cutest shop in the area. If I wouldnt have weight limit on fligfh, I would buy a half of the things there...

Graeme Miller: Interesting place where you can buy many day to day items and oddities at a very reasonable price. There are a few around Budapest but the one on Vaci utca is over two floors and has a geeat selection of items.

Omer Dadon: Great store! It has so many little things you need and want, we spent a lot of time there and not a lot of money because of the cheap prices!

İrem Ünlü: Great shopping adventure

Central Market Hall: what do users think?

Eran Shooster: A beautiful and large market, intended for visiting tourists. The place is clean, tidy. On the first floor there are lots of stalls selling meat / sausage and stalls selling mainly paprika souvenirs. On the second floor lots of amazing and unique souvenirs as well as fast and delicious food stalls. The place is worth a visit. experience.

Arindam Roychowdhury: Awesome market. Its not the products but the architecture of the building. Fascinating variety of shops. For a tourist like I was, for me, it was a great place to look close into the culinary side of Hungary. Talk to local people. The sight of fresh veggies is always a pleasure.

Michael Rose: This place was amazing!! Wonderful smells, terrific people, excellent food and the place is huge..... Sausage, meat, goulash and music. Guy played excellent music on a violin while we ate. This is a must when traveling to Budapest. Stop by the huge green bridge next door going over the Danube!!!!! We loved it here and the locals that was very kind...... Safe travels..............100% a must stop for any culture.

Taro Mikami: Lots of meat, vegetables, fruits, spices, etc you can buy here at ground floor. At 1sr floor there are some restaurant where you can eat traditional Hungarian dishes. It was reasonable and so tasty. There are also many souvenir shop where you can find the wonderful present to your friend. You should not miss coming to the Central market hall when you come to Budapest. I’m sure you will be able to spend wonderful time here. Highly recommended.

Andrea Gargiani: Discovering the strong, spicy, fragrant flavors of Hungarian gastronomy including soups, paprika and imagination! The Central Market is the largest and oldest covered market in Budapest within walking distance of the river and the Liberty Bridge. A particular building, already very captivating for its external beauty, even more seductive once you cross the threshold of its multiple entrances. Said building is the Central Market of Budapest (Nagycsarnok for the natives), a gastronomic paradise that fully summarizes the potential of the Hungarian culinary tradition. As soon as you enter, you are immediately struck by the size and magnificence of this market, which is spread over three levels, one of which is a basement. Whether you enter to consume, to do some shopping or simply out of curiosity, the Central Market of Budapest undoubtedly remains a symbolic place of the Hungarian capital where you can spend a pleasant interlude of time!!

backpackingmod: I love visiting markets in other countries. They are a hive of activity, great for photos and you’ll always find great local food. This is no exception. There is quite a lot of tourist type stuff on sale but you can avoid that if you want to. The ground floor is full of fresh meat, vegetables and local booze. Upstairs at one end are a number of food stalls selling great local food. I had a lovely Hungarian sausage while the better half had some sort of sweet pizza base thing covered in Nutella, strawberries and vanilla cream. 😃😃😃😍😍😍

Rododendron Art & Design Shop: what do users think?

Adrià Martí Peiró: Brilliant design shop located in a small street in the middle of downtown. I amazed with the variety of different things you can buy and all of them with unique design and unforgettable style. I took special attention with the music was playing on. I spent a great time.

Rafal: The most beautiful design shop by i’v ever seenFull of hungarian art pottery postcards and so much moreI really love it 💛

Josefina G.: Best place for paper souvenirs from Budapest. Wide variety of posters, postcards and paper art. Definitely a must!

David G: The best source for artisan handmade design products, souvenirs and contemporary art!

leart alert: Such a lovely place! We bought wonderful postcards and earrings ♥️ they also have bags and posters! Really nice designs and lovely people! We really recommend coming here. We found it by accident and were so lucky

Vy Nguyen: Fantastic place to pick up local art, goods, and post cards. Store owner is very very kind and knowledgeable. She also knows a lot of cool and local places in Budapest. They accept Euros and Credit Cards. English speaking. Post cards are from 600 HUF to 800 HUF. Not the cheapest, but very high quality and supports local artists.

Günter Gebert: This is an awesome place. It is like a little wonderland, you find something new, unique and fantastic in every corner. You can lose yourself in the artworks. The people running the store are extremely friendly, helpful and prepared to explain you everything you want to know, from the history of the store to the story of particular prints. If you are interested in contemporary art and want to support the art scene in Budapest, this place is def worth a visit.

Bernie Person: Very cute things to buy, love the authenticity. Over priced and not very friendly staff

Fanni F: Lovely shop for hand made souvenirs and Hungarian designer accessories, home decor and art items. Friendly and nice staff.

Noemi Sebok: Cheerful & Useful & Creative Stuff

Lee Vally: Always something worth buying and at great prices in Flying Tiger shops which are dotted around Europe

Barnabás Tóth: Best shop for everything. really

Koala Maci: Awesome stuff as usual 👩‍🎤

Péter Balla: Perfect franchise shop.

Petra Tálas: Directly, there is never a price for anything? This is not the first time I have turned away from the store. And this is not the case with a couple of things that the dear customer may have knocked out, but there are rows of goods without tags. For example, the Halloween stuff. I also work in commerce, it cannot happen that the goods are out there like this. Disappointment

Tunde: Very good paper shop, normal price. In addition to paper stores, you can get a lot of things, basically what you need in the kitchen, bathroom, office, at home and at work. The shapes are acceptable, the design of the items is modern, cheerful, often in pastel colors

Levente Kovács: This place is a shop for all cute jokes. At first it seems stupid, but when you go through it, you will definitely find something that you want to take home.

Il Dottore: Unique, stylish, traditional products with the help of extremely direct, constructive staff. In addition to the higher price range and postage costs, it is especially recommended to go deeper into the production and sniff it in, to refresh what our Hungarians mean, how important our survival is in this world, which is distorted to the extreme and becomes completely insensitive. Endurance.
