Lidl: what do users think?

KK Baskar: This is a large supermarket with everything you need during your stay in Budapest. I found this side of Budapest way better than downtown area where the supermarkets are smaller and don’t have all items including fresh fruits and veggies. Loved shopping here as I didn’t have to search for basic day to day items. This is specific to the needs of tourists.

MANUEL LAI: Lidl Shop located in the centre of Budapest. As usual you can find in Lidl a vast range of products and good prices and offers.

Beatrise Kaminska: Has the basic groceries and prices are average, so it’s fine but a far cry from a good shopping experience. Always busy and the layout is confusing, often can’t find what I’m looking for. Sometimes the prices listed are inaccurate/not under the right product

Victoria Nagy: Great shop, but an extremely awful layout. There was no thought on how to place each sections. If there is a big queue good luck trying to navigate through the shop… impossible …

Zsuzsa Maluzsak: No way. No shopping baskets, I feel l havee to do the work for the nowhere find shopping attendants. Crowded as well.

Mateus Pereira (Cavalex): Rude employee, refuses to speak English or any other language and was very rude to us. Overall bad experience.

Denmark L: Always overcrowded, with too few registers open(welcome to Budapest). Quality control of produce is terrible.

SPAR supermarket: what do users think?

Szász Hilda: Prices are literally higher in any SPAR market than the Chinese store on the corner Service is inexplicably bad, or pretty much nonexistent. If you are visiting during peak hours, be prepared to wait 20 mins in line to pay.

sonelee makoona: I go there since it’s quite close and I can usually get most stuff. However, the employees are so rude, it’s only sometimes and rarely that there are nice employees who also speak English or else they are all useless and arrogant. Today, I went for a Christmas tree and I told one staff to keep it since I would go get other things then buy it and apparently she left it at the cashier, so when I went to get the tree, the cashier who assisted me was really nice while her colleague who is much younger and of a darker skin tone told her something, which probably meant to not give me the tree. When I went to the ask the younger one if I can have the tree since technically is mine she shouted in Hungarian in front of everyone ?! And said she won’t give me since she will take it. As far as I know the customer is the one who gets to buy what they want! Rudest staff ever

Nigel Millington: One of the best around especially for foreigners. A larger than usual range of meat, breads and diary products with good wine and household necessities. Queues not too long and no self service which can be a trail for non Hungarian speakers.

Shell Atherton: Very busy as always great stock and great price

Lika: Not the best spar as it’s super messy (navigation-wise) and slowHowever still okay Spar with great selection of stuff+ they have recycling bins for glass !!

Syed Faheem Ahmad: Nice Supermarket and prices are good. More good if open Little more late night.

AKANKSHA OJHA: Almost all the grocery shopping items are available

Kriszti N: Cheaper than most spars. Good location too.

SPAR: what do users think?

Andre Wehling: The store is quite small and has a more international choice of products which I like. Unfortunately I can only give one star because they are selling products in the normal shelf which need to be stored at 8 degree Celsius maximum. I informed the employees but they continue to do this even one day later. Seems like they dont care a lot about their costumers health.

Benoît Cabanel: Nice place for small shopping, not realy expensive, clean

Michael Lee: It was late. All the shops were closed but this shop was still open. It was good chance to buy what I wanted to buy.

Alvaro Blazquez: Good selection. A bit small and it can get crowded easily.

Alisa Heus: not enough fresh vegetables and fruits. Sometimes no toilet paper, tampons or other necessary daily products.

rossen petkov: Not a very wide selection and somewhat narrow isles to pass people

Alexander Hodko: Good Spar nice and convenient with a good selection of products. Located on kiraly utca and open till 2100 most days it is easily accessible and also offers a selection of international products for the foreign customers. It has all the essentials as well as a few extras although not as cheap as Aldi or Lidl it provides enough options when our in a hurry. Open on Sunday’s and most public holidays this is a combiner and functional spar that I would recommend for shopping

Asia Diszkont: what do users think?

Anastasia B: Been to Budapest twice, both times came by to buy lots of snacks and gifts. They have so much stuff that it makes you wanna buy everything. I personally loved Bounty spread, which I’d never seen before. As for the staff, they are cool. What is more, they accept euros for payment if you have no forints.

Living In Hungary Dot Info (Living In Hungary): This place is great and has friendly staff. They sell branded goods at discoounted prices. As an example, I bought a Coca-Cola from the city centre for 350 HUF but here I got it for 170 HUF only. Chocolates were much cheaper than in the UK too. Brand name cosmestics and household goods were also greatly discounted. Definitely visit this place as a tourist or as a resident if you want serious discounts.

Kai Avalos: Love this place, great place to stop by if you need toiletries. A lot cheaper than super markets for the branded stuff.

Gabor K: Great Asian discount store

Miklós Solymosi (Art Fixer): Outstanding Vietnamese service!

Ferenc Liscsey: OK. found what I was looking-for.

Veronika Bácsai: No card purchases under HUF 1,000... Just kidding

Rita Derczó: If the market is already closed, you need something. The same offer, slightly higher prices.

Lidl: what do users think?

Claudia Almeida: I like the Lidl variety and some products have good prices. I prefer to pay with very friendly cashier. She speaks English and always very friendly, it stands out from the other attendants. I always try to pay at her checkout. There are two guys who are very attentive and polite too. But some employees need to learn with this guys. Sometimes I come across some situations where the old man took a type of dessert roll without a plastic bag and I even tried to help, providing a new one. The cashier was very polite and used his mind at the right time. He charged without touching.

D F: Not enough space between aisles, can’t move around and shop properly. Same with the tills, when the shop is busy, the queues take over the whole floor, making it even harder to shop, as you can’t get to anything next to the queues. And if trying to look around while queueing, forget that too, as they move quite quick. So incredibly disorganised and also really bad vegetarian / vegan selection. Go to Aldi instead.

Krisztián Eszlári: You know already, why is it a good choice. Non-stop or 7/24. You can get anything, anytime, though everything has a slight overprice.

Klaus Wanderer: Steep mark ups compared to regular supermarkets, but you only use this in the middle of the night when you run out of booze 😆 On that note it has the right brands of beer and wine and a few sandwiches if you get the munchies in the middle of the night for some reason 😂

שחר פולק: 24-7 so convenient

Manna ABC: what do users think?

Md Ibrahim Khan Tuhin: All the items are well organized. This shop is clean and has a variety of products. The vegetables are not so fresh. All day 24/7 open. The price of the products are a bit high.

Faraz NSH: The old female cashier is very nice. But the male cashier was extremely rude and jealous. He wanted to show me i am not welcome there, so i show him in my google review I am not known for my patience. Prices are not cheaper.

Francisco Lima: A lot of variety, many products, sells alcohol late, friendly staff the store is full of people at any time, makes you feel safe. Seems like a family run business, everyone is always cracking a joke or having a laugh outside while smoking a cigarette. Don’t mind the obnoxious remarks on other reviews: these people have never worked at 4 am on a weekday - breaks are well deserved. The staff was nice, the store was organised, we got breakfast snacks and beers, as well as ice cream and everything was just fine! Smooth experience, card accepted

Urshika Sethi: Don’t go to this place the staff was so bad and they take more money and then argue with costumer there was one lady she was so bad and don’t know how to talk with a costumer please don’t go to this shop I was saying her that you took more money but she was no no but she took she is thief I was tourist so she thought she can do like this and started saying something in her language very rude she shouldn’t work like this ………..👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

critic: Is open 24/7 which is handy. Good variety of foods, has alcohol. Will charge for bags.

Authentic Experience: What can you expect from the twenty four hour shop. One good point about this store is that it is quite bigger then it’s own other shop. As you know they are little bit expensive because of 24 hour service but really deserves it. Staffs are helpful and little bit language problem but overall okay. I minus one star because of limited products and their is not too much selection in the vegetable section.

Michał Lenartowicz: Not open, just cashier smoking cigarette outside 😠

Baptiste Labaune: Eh, we all know you are the best store in Budapest, you saved us, alcoholic erasmus students when nobody would have helped us and as my mother, you are always here for me so, no. Thanks to you ABC and liv long and prosper.

King Rhino: Nice store. Small but has a better selection of just about everything than the TESCO up the street.

Lajos J. Hajdu: The boss is not allowed to reveal the telephone number. She understands that it would be good for business but no. People can even presumed secrets very well in Hungary!

Tesco: what do users think?

louis Huang: At 21:55 we went to the store, but was refused to go in since it was going to be closed. We totally understood, so we left. But right after we left, we saw each two white guys were allowed to go in while the store lady who stopped us didn’t refuse them. It can be any reason, but it seemed very likely to be racism.

Monika: On Sunday, May 22nd I experienced Hungarian “hospitality” in this shop. I was shocked with level of service there… Shops assistants very aggressively asked me to leave the store when I tried to enter 5 minutes prior to its closure despite I was explaining that I need only 1 bottle of water. It wouldn’t take more the 3 minutes in empty store. I understand that none wants to work overtime and I’m sure they wouldn’t… Avoid for “night shopping”.

ashwani jolly: Not so much stuff as i had anticipated but ok for general needs. Check the bill before you leave mistakes go uncheked

Marcelo Bregunci: Small store with small variety of products. Now it seems that they are always remodeling the store, moving products around. A bunch empty shelfs. But It is a good place with you need something fast, like a cold drink and snacks.

Marta Lopez: Nothing to do with the UK assortment. At 5 pm all fresh is was finished the day I went there.

aziz beitawi: Good location, good prices, but a bit dirty..

Attila Csordás: -Very disrespectful personal :(-Expensive-Small variety of products-and the list goes on...

Kirill Uvarov: The windows are half empty. But the prices are acceptable.

Lidl: what do users think?

Venkatachalapathy Chengalvarayanaidu: All fesh and frozen vegetable, dairy products and bakery items available at discounted price.

Beáta B.: The attitude of staff is very RUDE. They are constantly mocking criticizing and laughing at people. It happened to me too and I saw it and heard it multiple times that they were mocking the customers after they left. They are doing it to each other via their headset quetly. But I experienced it that they were very cynical to customers face to face as well. Very bad experience.

Roja Saketiyan: The attitude of the staff is good, but the store is very crowded and the machines that have been recently installed for self-payment are extremely slow. Also, they have always blocked the way inside the store with barriers and transport wheels. The aisles of the store itself are small, and the staff always narrows and blocks the traffic path with their wheelbarrows.

Alexandros Ntousias: The service is unacceptable, every morning the line is about 15 meters long because there is only one cashier and about 20-25 people waiting. Except the only woman who is on the cashier,.everyone else are lazy, they are looking at the people who are waiting and they do nothing. I will never go again to buy anything.

Roan van der Sluis: Shelves are consistently half-empty, very poor quality of vegetables (last week we bought an already moldy broccoli); always too few open cash registers. Things have seemed to have gotten worse and worse over the past 2 years.

Abd-Alfatah Alodainy: I have tried many stores this was one of the best, cheap and full of great things

Lidl Supermarket: what do users think?

Roja Saketiyan: It was one of the most organized Lidl stores that I have visited so far. The staff is very organized and friendly like most other Lidl stores.

Istvan Novak: I changed my rating from 5 star to 3 than 2 star and by December 2022 to 1 star as in the summer of 2022 they dramatically increased their price level by 20-100%, for example pre-fried chicken breast file was 1200 /kg 2y ago now 2500 Ft/kg! Emmental cheese was 2300-2700/kg in and out of promo now 3700 Ft /kg! Apple was 400-600 / kg, now the same types 800-1300 /kg sliced chicken ham was under 3000 if not 2500, now 4000-5000! Everyone got insane, incomes are unchanged prices, taxes , margins are nominally doubled in a year! July: all nuts went up by 30%! 7500 /kg from 6000 Lines are always long, no baskets available, crowded, no online shop and delivery and NOT CHEAP ANYMORE BUT EXPENSIVE!

r r: Young lady chatted with other cashier, and even the cashier made a mistake. Weighing is wrong every day. But on purpose to pay more expensively?I do not understand why there is no self-checkout machine when people wait in line every day. Self-checkout is a hundred times better than useless people

Salem Said: Nice and Big grocery shopping center. Friendly staff, some of them speak English as well.

Tesco Expressz: what do users think?

Dawn Glenn: So rude, uncaring and showed no empathy, very disappointed in Tesco staff. This is not the experience I would expect to receive in the uk, why should it be different anywhere else?

Rosanna McLaughlin: Food selection is fine, prices are fine... this a-hole? Not fine. I was using google translate to look at ingredients on a package, and he got in my face, saying ‘no photo’. I showed him it was a translator, and then he threatened to break my phone in half. Go to the Spar shop down the street.

shabtai beniamin: Express store, it has everything you need to complete, clean space and prompt and courteous service.

Nicolas Stacey: The place is pretty small, but conveniently located so.. comes in handy. Prices are good overall. Deffinitely not a for big buy, but good for picking somethint up while passing by.

marcia hurlow: If you can get food quickly and at a competitive price in a busy European city, this is it! Well stocked with the basics, it is a tight fit, not for the claustrophobic, but you will probably come out with the food or household product that you went in for.

Silvia Patricia Ortega: I like to shop on my way home but it gets pretty crowded at five. I think everyone has to do grocery shopping after work too.You can find all the basics here like oil, milk, bread, beer, chicken, veggies etc.

Jodok Strittmatter: This store has almost everything you need and is open almost whenever you need it. The staff is focused on speeding your buying-process up and will help you with your purchase. Fast and friendly, the stuff that makes a store useful.

Peter Murvai: Selection is fine, the queues are long and the self-service machines are a bit annoying (usually only 1 of them is operational). Staff is nice, customers are, well... :)

Peter Gorski: Good place to shop before a long trip to Bucharest

Ali Daher: Cool grocery store where you find most things

David: Cashier was giving me change with a big stack of 1000 forint bills. Saw she had 2000 bills and asked for those instead. Got a disgusted face and she begrudgingly gave just ONE! Asked for more and she said no.... What the heck! Horrible customer service!

Hyang Jo: Queue is usually shorter and have a smaller yet better selection of ready-made stuffs than the neighboring Aldi. Don’t go in here for fresh meats or broad choice of fruits/veges though. They’re better at Aldi.

Ludkahuska: Regular grocery store, good selection of pre made salads, humus. Late in day not too much fresh bread left. Beer and wine sold here. Hungarian paprika sold here😊

Manna ABC Podmaniczky utca: what do users think?

Lady Z: This place went through a renovation over the past summer and now has the vibe of a proper market rather than just a convenience store. There are fruit & veg and an impressive selection of health foods.

S. Toth Marta - #JóLétMentor, Coach, NLP Trainer: I made an order Sunday through Volt and the shop sent me quarter of the stuff and they in invoiced and took the amount for the full order. No phone call or any announce about the situation. After an hour of dealing with Wolt customer care I got credits for the plus amount taken by the shop. When I finished the conversation amd I opened the package I saw that all the ordered fruits are parrished (mango, pears).

Adrienn Vass: Rude workers and i’m pretty sure their alcohol is all fake versions of real brands

M Khalil: I love the staff. Very friendly and very helpful all that time

Cs Gy: Previously I rated this store 5 stars but recently the staff changed and they are extremely rude and bigoted. I do not recommend anyone going to this store

Yejin Lee: The employees at this store are the most racist, ignorant, aggressive, and immature people we’ve encountered across Europe. One of the employees slammed our food to the counter, snatched my card from my hand, rolled her eyes, and greeted us with pure hatred and disgust. Mind you, we are well-educated Asian-Americans who speak perfect English, looked through the store just to grab water and snacks (peacefully), and have never faced this sort of attitude for no reason whatsoever. Do not support a store with employees who have such poor ethics and values. Shame on you.

Dario Fez: It has a wide range of things that you could need and it is always working, but it is very expensive.
