SEK Budapest International School: what do users think?

Krisztina Lotterné: Very professional teacher staff, my kids love the school! It can be a good option, if you want to be in a real international community. They follow the Hungarian system, subjects are taught in English and in Hungarian. I strongly recommend it.

Edward Krudy: The school is generally very good. Pupils appear relaxed and engaged and appear to enjoy attending. Relationships between teachers and pupils are strong and the level of teaching and learning is generally high. The school does not appear to offer much in the way of individual attention for children - either high performing or under achieving - preferring a one-size-fits-all approach. Communication with parents is not good and teachers, administrators, and support staff generally do not reply to emails, which can be frustrating. The school buildings and grounds are well maintained and the classrooms are bright and airy. The computer room has just been refurbished with Apple desktops. Space is limited and sports facilities are restricted to a gym hall and a small tarmac play area. The sports offering is not strong and like many schools in Hungary sports are seen as the remit of independent sports clubs; this is in contrast to UK and US schools where sports are seen as an essential part of school life. Outdoor play is not actively encouraged during breaks. Music and drama are limited, there is no choir or school band and the children do not have an opportunity to perform beyond an end of year play. Art for children in the lower school is mainly drawing and colouring once a week. The library is not well stocked and is limited to text books. It does not appear to be a destination for children looking to borrow books or to find somewhere quiet and comfortable to read. The turnover of staff is high and teachers often leave in the middle of the school year or even at the start, which causes disruptions to lessons. The school does not involve parents very much and there is no PTA, just informal social media groups set up by parents that can be dominated by two or three vocal parents. The school would certainly benefit from fostering a dialogue with parents. Despite some of the areas where improvements could be made the school remains very popular with children and parents. It is currently running near capacity. This could be partly due to the fact that it is the most modestly priced of the ‘international’ schools. Despite having a range of nationalities the school is mainly Hungarian. This may be an issue for non-Hungarian speakers who could feel shut out. It can also be an issue for Hungarian parents who are paying in the hopes of a higher level of exposure to English. Native English speakers should be aware that the level of teaching in English does not correspond to the level in the same year group of a school where English is the main language. In this sense English teaching can sometimes look more like teaching English as a second language. Despite some of the issues, in general SEK Budapest is very a good school that could be an excellent school with the necessary improvements.

diablogun: Worse school ever. Rude administrators and very poor understanding of English.

Jasmin Amer: They are very nice and helpful!

Roxána Hossó: Great education program, well-trained teachers and nice environment.

Enerel Bat-Ochir: Find the international community and the environment

Erika Kiss: Excellent school!

Balazs Koren: One of the few schools in Hungary to do an IB.

Krystal Song: overall, good

Budapest British International School: what do users think?

nvpokr: My child is very happy here. The owners invest a lot into the school development. The teaching staff is very professional, they really love kids and their job. Drama club is amazing! Math and science lessons are really on a high level and my daughter loves them a lot.

Edoardo Peniche: Best International School in Budapest We have lived in multiple countries and continents where my kids have been exposed to different types of education systems, we came to Budapest and we evaluated the different options in the market and if we have the opportunity to choose again, we will select again the BBIS. The philosophy and values of this school are not a marketing slogan, their world class teachers, leadership and owners work really hard every day to make sure they develop the students to become global citizens always encouraging and supporting them individually to achieve their full potential at their own pace. We feel privileged to have our daughters on this school.

Yasemin Oduncu: My daughter has been studying in BBIS for already 3 years and very happy there. The management always responses to any problem. Great teachers, British curriculum,a big variety of after class actiities, brand new school with last techlogy equipment, opportunity to take private music classes from highly professional teachers. For us there are no bad sides...never thought to change to any other school.

Reshma Mathew: Absolutely recommend this school.. Perfect for kids who moved into a new country ciz not only are the teachers extremely fantastic and easily approchable, they all make you feel welcome and at home.. ONLY SCHOOL WITH IB curriculum in Middle Year.

Istvan Szakall: Well managed, caring school. They really live up to the motto: "Enable children to achieve more than they think they can!

Gábor Golyán: Best international school in Budapest.

Dora Krulik: Best private school in Budapest

赵斌: great

Joseph Simon: Anticipatory trust.

chang Shu: Not worth the cost, and not focus on the subjects and the enrollment. The security is near zero.

Gary Hou: This is the best school in history the school is so big!!! And the money to attend the school is so worth it must go and #meetGary

aqune: i mean its ok but like i mean they keep on raising those peeza prices and its kinda scary😳😳like bruh i cant pay for that😅omg bruh moment . . . . ..one time i was trying to focus in class when someone came up to me and told me that my pencil case looked like a my little pony, i promptly took their pencil case and filled it with ketchup and mayonnaise from the cafeteria. doesnt say much about the school but i wanted to share

lily shaw: Very bad experience. After receiving the fee, I was immediately told that there was no degree. Cheat school!

Nedda Zsembery: I have learned here for over 4 years. I love the experience a lot and wish that I could go back there.

Britannica International School: what do users think?

Sander Wimderlout: The school "Britannica" does not meet its private school status. It lost her level, which it gave in previous years. Behind the high price is low educational status. There are some teachers who are good, but they will leave school, as many teachers who moved to other private schools in Budapest last year. The cost of training was raised, the school administration said that the building will be built and improved. For a year now, nothing has been built or improved (see photo). Do you want your children to study in such an "elite" private school, and your money be used for unknown purposes? Food in the school cafeteria was often dangerous to the health of my child. I do not recommend the Britannica school - ANYONE.

Anson Li: Great school! Very professional!

Sandra Fekete: I completed by IGCSEs at Britannica back in the day and it has been such fun to return recently and see just how far the school has come! There are still some familiar faces amongst the staff, which I think is a true strength of the school, and despite growing considerably since my student days, the family atmosphere is still there. #ProudAlumni

Kim Mina: this school doesnt teach students properly, they dont even use textbooks. Too much focus on things like uniform and absents in school rather than on studies. There is also discrimination coming from teachers becaus ethey have their favorite students and doesnt pay much attention to others. Also there is a visible dividion between abilities of students , if a student isnt very good at the subject he or she automatically go to "stupid " group which can lower motivation to even study.

Georg Mv: Excellent brittish school in Budapest

Jakab Ferenc: Oh my yeah god inglis

Swapna Telang: Nice path

Orchidea International School Budapest: what do users think?

TheKingOfGalaxy: The teachers are literally absolute basters only teaching and helping the students they like instead of help wing everyone . It saids its international school were they teach English . But the english is so bad that it’s below A2 level . I personally have a C2 certificate so I can prove that the teachers know less english then the children . Also the Hungarian children are racist and the inside is not as same as the outside .

dori: very bad school my daughter transferred here after half a year and another school. first of all it is very clear that the hungarian children discriminate against the children who don’t speak Hungarian (i’m saying this as a hungarian person). people talk about each other INFRONT OF THE TEACHERS in Hungarian while the other children don’t understand what’s going on. The teacher Gabriella is extremely rude and unprofessional and doesn’t bat an eye at the children who aren’t good at math. she only cares about the kids who she likes. they also transferred the children into a new school building (only high schoolers) and the school building looks like the school should cost zero dollars a month. I don’t understand why we’re paying to have our children go to a school that looks like any basic public school in hungary.

Peter Trant: Well my experience with this school has been fantastic, from the School secretary Laura Kürtössy-Robson to Orosz Balazs who showed us around and answered all of our questions. I grilled the school on every topic from their bullying policy to their extra-curriculum activities and we were very impressed. We are very much looking forward to our son joining this multicultural school where he will meet other children from over 18 different countries.

Anson Li: The admission team is unprofessional with the broken English in e-mails. They are not very responsive and trying to help kids and their families.

Ahmet Dundar: Great facilities with excellent people in it. Well done!

Aisha Arszunkaev: Best school ever!!!

Renáta Maurer: They come from the Middle East, like the Migrants. I can’t find words for the class community so filter. It is full of Muslims (about 80-90%) Teachers are unfair, and teaching is filtering. By the end of the 12th year, students will only receive an English-language high school diploma and from there will only be able to attend an English-speaking / national university.

Avicenna College: what do users think?

Steve Szabó: As an innovation regarding our German language programme at the AIC, we decided to give the opportunity to 11 Avicenna students to spend a week in the Bavarian city Lindau at our partner language school Dialoge. The students stayed with specially selected German host families. Here, our students attended German language classes every morning divided in three different groups ( A1, A2, B2), from 9 am to 12.30pm. In the afternoon they took part in cultural activities, visiting nearby Austrian and Swiss cities, hiking in the Alps and also taking a boat tour on the beautiful lake Bodensee.

Harout Parseghian: AIC staff hiking trip at dobogókő was a very refreshing and upbuilding experience where everyone enjoyed the company of the other and the picturesque scenery of the surroundings. Looking forward for the next one!

Faraz NSH: The personnel are very patient. I studied german language here. The food is good quality. The library is very nice. . The process of making appointments is tiresome. Staying silent ,calm and polite around library or in the dining room is yet not culturalized for very very young students who enter here or Semmelweis students that enjoy the classrooms here. Hot summer days.

VISHAL MISHRA COMPUTER SCIENCE: It is best for study German language. Here you find good quality food and library for gain more knowledge. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Xuân huy Nguyễn: bad schools and raise student fees to fix the school it still looks like. Moreover, there is no official announcement about this

Dami Lorincz: Apart from astonishingly beautiful building this institute is a confluence of different nationalities and diverse cultures that imparts an environment to promote students’ social, emotional, and academic learning !!!

REAL School Budapest: what do users think?

Grant Boyd-Gibbins: I couldn’t be more impressed than I am with the REAL School. The ideas behind its sustainability philosophy are ideas that reflect our best intentioned selves, and they are incorporated into daily school life in a natural and harmonious way. The drive up the Danube is beautiful and a great way to start the day. Our 10 year old son is so happy there, that I’m only sorry we didn’t join before. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Caitlin McDonald: The aim of the Real School is to dream and build a beautiful world and the children are given the opportunity to make this happen every day! The educators are outstanding, the school grounds are so lush for a city school, but most importantly children are heard and directly involved in guiding their own learning experience, it’s empowering to say the least.

Viktoria Szemeredy: A beautiful, progressive school where the happiness of the children is only the start. Brilliant educators and caring and kind students. A unique community with a purpose. The school you wish you went to.

Dorka Klim: The most innovative and child-centered English/International school in town, both primary and high school option, wonderful educators and absolutely unique space and location.

Péter Budai: Innovative new international school that we have been part of since the start, our son enjoys the connection to nature, friendly community and exciting projects.
